I was born and raised in Pakistan, a place where hand-knitting has disappeared from everyday life. Growing up, I never saw anyone knit—no fancy yarn stores, no festivals, no community around this craft. I studied computer science, worked in the industry, and never imagined knitting would become part of my life.
Everything changed in 2008 when a dear friend gifted me a beautiful pair of hand-knit fingerless handwarmers. Back then when hand-knitting was rare and “old school,” her work felt magical. I wore them to work and my colleagues stopped to compliment them. That’s when i decided that i also want to learn this craft.
I asked my mother to teach me, and three months later, I was selling my first handmade pieces to friends and family. What started as curiosity turned into passion, and eventually into a small business I carried with me when I moved to Canada. Today, I live in Quebec with my husband and two kids, knitting my dreams into reality in the small moments between motherhood. 🌟
I’m forever grateful to my friend (Nadyah, i hope you are reading this 🤎) for inspiring me, and to my mother for passing this beautiful skill down to me. ☺️
Thank you for being here and for supporting my work. It truly means everything. 🤍🧶
