Day 14 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

I didn’t get nearly as much sewing done today as I’d hoped. I had quite a few fittings, and one of my favourite customers stopped in and we ended up having a nice long chat, which I enjoyed way too much to regret. 😂💚

So I finished the day with a whole pile of hems lined up on my sewing table, ready and waiting for me first thing tomorrow morning.

Hopefully tomorrow is one of those head down, get ALL the things done kind of days. 🤞🧵

Day 13 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

I did actually get some sewing done today, including sewing the numbers back onto a Roughriders jersey, but I also spent a little more time on my phone than usual. 😂

The video I posted yesterday of cutting my cousin’s T-shirts started taking off, and apparently I have absolutely no self-control when the notifications keep coming in. So that was where a good portion of my brain was today. 📱👀

Still got some work done though, so I’m counting it as a win. 😂🧵

My cousin wanted a better fit from some oversized T-shirts, so I gave them a little makeover. ✂️

This is how I cut and shaped them to make them feel a bit more flattering while still keeping that relaxed T-shirt look.

It’s one of those simple changes that can make a shirt feel completely different without doing a full alteration. 🧵

Apparently I decided the best way to celebrate my friends’ birthdays was to give myself 4 embroidery projects to finish in 4 days. 😂

I started Tuesday morning with a plan, a pile of thread, and probably way too much confidence.

Did I finish them all? You’ll have to watch and see. 🧵✨

Day 12 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

Today had the usual mix of hems, repairs and alterations, plus I finally hemmed my own jeans and added some elastic to the waist.

But the winner for most random alteration of the day goes to a windsock that came in to be shortened. 😂 While I was working on it, I realized it had actually been made inside out, so CANADA was backwards. I turned it right side out and did the best I could to fix it without completely remaking the thing.

You truly never know what’s going to come through the door of an alterations shop. 😂🇨🇦🧵

Day 11 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

Funny story… I actually filmed this yesterday and completely forgot to post it. 😂 So here’s yesterday’s workday, just fashionably late.

Another day of keeping the sewing machine busy, tackling alterations, and slowly working my way through the pile one garment at a time. Some days I remember everything… and some days I remember I made a reel 24 hours later. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Since I started sharing more behind-the-scenes of life as a professional seamstress, I’ve already had two September bridesmaids tell me they found my account while looking for someone to hem their dresses.

That’s exactly why I keep showing up and posting. You never know who might be looking for a seamstress until they find you.

Day 10 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

I got a lot more sewing done today than I managed to film, but being a small business owner also means wearing a lot of other hats.

Since it was the end of the month, I had some business things to take care of… and then my brain completely hyper-fixated on finding better packaging for finished alterations. 😂 Hopefully it’ll all be worth it when your orders start leaving the shop looking even better!

Sometimes the sewing stops, but the business never really does. 💚
