We see hundreds of brides every year, but some of the brides who come through our doors definitely leave a piece of themselves behind, and Marie Belanger was one of those brides! ❤️

It was such a pleasure getting to know her and work with her to create the "gown of her dreams!" She was an absolute joy and had such fabulous ideas of what she wanted her gown to look like! Marie, you were such a beautiful bride inside and out! ✨

And your wedding photos… WOW! 😍 They are absolutely stunning, Marie...you looked breathtaking!! Seeing you all dressed up and so incredibly happy makes all those little details and hours of work so very worthwhile. 🧵🪡

There’s something so special about being part of a bride’s journey to her wedding day. 💕✨

I absolutely love what I do—helping fabulous ladies feel comfortable, confident, and completely beautiful in their wedding gowns. Every gown has its own little story, and every bride has her own vision. Being trusted to make those finishing touches and see everything come together is such a joy!

From the first fitting to that final look in the mirror, I feel so lucky to meet so many wonderful women and play a small part in such a BIG day. 👰‍♀️💍Allie Staniforth was one of my "standout" brides this summer! She already looked beautiful in her wedding gown, but it needed a few tweaks to make it SPECTACULAR! She also brought in her short sequin long sleeve backless reception dress in to be fitted.. That was fun to work on and looked crazy awesome on her as well !

While the crush of wedding season isn't over yet, I'd like to thank the hundreds of beautiful brides who have trusted Material Things with their wedding gown alterations this year! It truly is a pleasure to work with you!❤️

It was such a pleasure to alter Maxime’s beautiful wedding gown and be a small part of her journey to the big day. She was absolutely wonderful to work with, and I truly enjoyed every moment of having her in the studio. 💕

From the first fitting to the final stitch, it was such a privilege to work on a gown that reflected the beautiful person wearing it. Samantha, you were an absolute dream to work and you had the perfect vision of what you wanted your gown to look like!

Some weddings are grand, and some are quietly magical… Chelsey’s was the kind you feel in your heart long after it’s over 💫

Last week on beautiful Vancouver Island, Chelsey said “I do” in an intimate ceremony surrounded by love, laughter, and the people who matter most. Every detail reflected her—elegant, effortless, and deeply meaningful.

It was such an honour to be part of this special moment and to alter her gown to match the beauty of the day and the incredible woman wearing it.
