Join us for our last workshop for year 2025!

I have been exploring on how to share the batik-making process within 2.5hours! I usually host an intro workshop which only consists of drawing with wax, but this time I have prepared Indigo vat for this session :)

A newly updated version of batik-intro workshop; where you will be experiencing drawing,dyeing, and wax removal process in one go! 🥹

Batik Workshops are back!

Our friends at The Batik Library

Starting next year we are evolving into something more community-nurtured and led 🫶🏾 This is your last chance to give these one-of-a-kind pieces a new home.

A little about my reflection:

I started this journey from the basic simple reason to have a platform where I can share the stories and philosophies of the wide range of Indonesian Batik fabrics to the world along with combining my apparel design expertise with it.

I enjoyed my moment working with artisans in Indonesia developing the collection and executing the design process. My mini joys whenever I get an email saying I have received orders that comes every so often, usually about 2-5 orders a month.

Along the way this made me realize that what I was trying to achieve was way bigger than I have planned. The stories that I was looking forward to tell have led me into doing deeper research. This requires more attention that I have the capacity to handle.

For this reasons we will be re-structuring The Batik Library and in the meantime we are clearing our stock.

I really appreciate every one of you that supports our mission and journey.

I will be at the Toque craft market Dec 1 and also an intro-batik-workshop on Dec 7

Time passes by so fast! This is one of the first batches of fabric that we made and it definitely was a hit! We haven’t been able to produce large quantities due to the nature of our brand :)

We work closely with batik artisan in Indonesia that make batik fabrics using natural dyes. In an order of 12 pcs of batik usually takes about 2-3 weeks for them to be finished, sometimes it takes longer time if there is not enough sun ☀️

After that we have a wonderful clothing production that we work with to process our fabrics into clothing. We designed the style of the clothing here in Vancouver BC.
