In any conversations of potential dangers your child may face, it's very important to consider your own child's personality and temperament. Some children happen to be naturally cautious in new situations. Others may respond more readily to friendly overtures and promises, and therefore need more guidance. Some parents may be reluctant to point out potential dangers, but keeping children uninformed is NOT an option. The effects of the media are powerful, and children of all ages watch television, hear news reports, and listen to adult conversations. By withholding these conversation from your child, you are putting them in harms way.

Your child needs to know that their parents, caregivers, teachers, or other trusted adults are there to help if they have doubts, questions, or concerns about their safety. When chilling events about children are in the news, discuss them to make sure your child's impressions are accurate.

Remember to treat your children with kindness everyday. Children copy how their parents treat them. When parents are consistently caring and kind, children copy this kindness towards themselves, which helps them develop inner well-being and happiness. So even when children are struggling, they feel that they are loved and valued.

The first step in becoming a better parent is recognizing that parenting is challenging and requires support and learning every step of the way. All parents need support in some form or another at different stages during our children’s development.

There are lots of different resources available for both parents and children. Take advantage of what's around you, no one ever fails with a strong support system standing behind them. Some parents are blessed with a village to stand behind them, while others have to build up their own support system from scratch, and either is more than okay.

Following these 3 simple "hacks" will drastically improve your relationship with yourself as a parent, the relationship you have with your family, and most importantly, the relationship you have with your child.

The difference between the two comes down to one thing; The 1st Edition is laminated which makes it completely reusable, and the 2nd Edition is not laminated, making it a single use book. Why is safety within our society such an important conversation to have with our children?

One of the most important things we can do as parents is protect our children by educating them about their personal safety. Teaching children simple strategies about staying safe can help them build up their confidence, resilience and empower them to be safe in a variety of different situations.

It’s not difficult to educate our children on this topic. All it takes is willingness, time, and some help with content.

Conversations about safety within society should begin at an early age, with information specific to the age of your child. You adjust the content of these conversation over time as they grow. Discussing safety issues in a positive, open and reassuring manner, while modelling a calm but realistic problem-solving style is the best approach. A matter-of-fact approach will make your child aware that they are capable of dealing with life's realities. Even the youngest child can be taught simple rules about personal safety, such as their whole name, address, phone number, the names of his parents, who to call in an emergency, and how to use the phone to call 911 - BE SAFE: An Educational Activity Book for Kids covers all of that and more, making those difficult conversations a thousand times easier.

📨I have received a few messages from people outside of the Niagara Region inquiring about the custom BE SAFE: AN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY BOOK, but I am unable to offer shipping at this time.

🤔I debated on whether or not I should publish my book on amazon. I worried about whether the convince of fast shopping in a place like amazon would leave my business overlooked. I decided to publish a blank version of BE SAFE: AN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY BOOK. Anyone who wants to utilize this tool should be able to, I do not want anyone left out and that's why I have decided to publish it. This version does not have all the same aspects when it comes to content compared to the custom version, but the message is still the same. The whole point of the be safe series is to give parents a tool to help start difficult conversations about safety within society.
