Good morning!
I would like to draw everyone's attention to the construction at Coleman corner. All of our staff drive into work from east of Coleman, so we totally get the frustration of being stuck there. If you're coming in for an appointment, please take into account the possibility of a delay. We try to be as accommodating as possible, but we may need to reschedule appointments if you are more than 15 minutes late. Thank you!

I have an ask for the community! We have been open for 2 months now, and the support from the community has been amazing! However, it has come to our attention that a lot of people outside of O'Leary don't yet know that we're here. If you're reading this and you are from, or have lots of friends in: Tignish, Miminegash, Alberton, Elmsdale, Bloomfield, Mill River, Ellerslie, Tyne Valley, Lennox Island, Richmond, or any place in between, we would appreciate a share to get the word out!

Our first sensory-friendly day yesterday was a great experience for our office. We are so happy to see the patients and parents who put trust in us to make their eye exams as smooth as possible.

A question we frequently get is "how do you even do an eye exam on a baby, someone with dementia, or someone non-verbal?" And our answer is that a ton of the information we get is from looking at the eye and watching the behaviors and eye movements of the patient. Eye problems like glaucoma, macular degeration, nearsightedness, farsightedness, and cataracts could be diagnosed without the patient having said a single word.

We hope to run another sensory-friendly day later in the fall if there's interest, but feel free to call us any time to book in yourself or your family member, or to discuss any accommodations that could make your eye exam easier.

The Program for Elementary Eye Care funds annual eye exams and up to three prescription pairs of glasses per student during elementary school.

This program is available to students in grades one through six who have a valid PEI Health Card.

You might notice this morning that our new sign is up! And with it, that darn 859 number that took us 4 and a half months to acquire. We're still keeping our old number on deck while we change all our correspondence to the new number.

Thanks to Blain Buchanan Signs for the lovely new sign! We hope this stops tourists from walking into our lobby and declaring they want to withdraw money from Scotiabank 😂

UPDATE: we found them! Thanks to everyone who gave us leads.

I once again have a question for the people of O'Leary! A couple of weeks ago we had a heavy rain which caused a tiny leak in our roof in one spot. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea who replaced the roof on this building last. I'm not looking for recommendations of roofing companies, I'm wondering if anyone who worked here, or has insider info, knows which contractor did it.
I've made several attempts to contact the previous owners of the building but they refuse to give an answer 🫠
I'd appreciate any leads!
