Weather you dust off your machine or use mine, here is the answer to the starter sewing class that you've been itching to start. Perfect if you're a beginner just revving up your machine, or if you're familiar with the basics and are ready keep cruising into revamping some of your clothes or following the “patterned road”.
*Location: My centrally located apartment, a creative, smoke-free, lai
d-back environment. Use either my machine, or yours if you would like to bring it. OR
Your home with your machine, provided it's within a 20 minute bus ride from downtown.
*Rates : One-on-one classes for 2 hours = $50
Groups of two or more for 2 hours = $40 each

*Classes: Classes are structured around what you'd like to learn: All first sessions involve an introduction to threading the machine, basic stitches, using essential sewing tools such as a seam ripper, measuring tape and machine oil; as well as joining two pieces of fabric and making a hem. In your first session you choose if you'd like to make a tote bag or cushion cover, or start making small alterations to garments you own. Sessions after that are built on what you'd like to work on – some have a pattern already picked out for what they'd like to make, or I can introduce you to another fashionable or functional piece to make.
*FREE Stuff: Sewing notions such as ribbon, zippers, pins, needles and thread are provided, as well as any material you need for your tote bag or cushion cover in your first session. (Plus you always have complimentary tea or a cold bevvy! )
