Hey there lovely humans!! 🌞 Summer has finally hit the Ottawa area and I am overjoyed!!

Well friends, this is the first thing I've made for myself in a really long time and I'm super excited to share it with you!! 🩷

Last year I picked up a RTW (🙈) solid black beach romper and it became my most worn piece of the summer. So I just HAD to try to replicate it in this incredible graffiti hearts jersey print I picked up awhile back from !
Self-drafted and added some much needed pockets and I'm thrilled with how it turned out!

And what a perfect piece to wear to show you all my whimsical tattoo that I've been thinking about for years and years. It's a total dream come true- something to represent my family and best friends and myself; to literally wear my heart on my sleeve- and my incredible tattoo artist wqs able to pluck this random jumble of thoughts out of my brain and made absolute magic! 🌈 I am obsessed! She is such an incredible human and I'm so thankful to have met her. I can't imagine anyone else having been able to bring my ideas to life in this way! Go see her if you've been thinking of getting some body art!!!

Well hello springtime!! 🌸🍃🦋
I've been asked a bunch lately if I'm still sewing and I figured it was time to get some new pieces posted!
I am so in love with this fairy inspired dress- each leaf petal features a gorgeous garden print on the underside, and I had fun adding a hint of detail to the green side of the leaf- swipe through to see the subtle details and 360° view of this fabulous little birthday dress! 🧚‍♀️
I'm definitely not doing the volume of sewing I once was- the last year and a half navigating deep grief and big life changes has required me to slow down on a lot of fronts and get much more sleep than I used to. And it's been good. And I also really miss creating! So as I work to find the right balance, I super appreciate everyone's energy and support, and I find a special joy making pieces like this! 🌞
I have been making birthday dresses for this sweet girl for 7 years now!! How crazy is that?! I am honestly so honoured to be part of folks' birthday traditions- I never imagined I would be so lucky. 🍀
So a huge thanks to my very special clients who have become friends over the years, who have so much patience and trust, and who have stuck around through all the seasons.

Why should the top be only one colour, when it could be swirly purple and pink to match that sweet cupcake icing?!! 🧁

Hey friends, happy weekend! Another holiday throwback that I haven't yet shared is this super sweet Mommy-and-me 'grandpa' cardigan set that I got to make for my best friend and her daughter in the coziest brushed sweatshirt fabric.
The order was 'oversized and comfy', so this slouchy and 9-12 year grow-with-me were the perfect patterns!

I wish I had recorded my son's reaction when I asked him to model this with me. He was like "Is this mine? Can it be mine? I want one just like this mom, with pockets and buttons so I can be fancy. Are you sure I can't keep this one?" Haha- it was so cute and I promise I WILL make him a cozy one of his own now that I'm back at my machines more. 😘 Scroll through for our little photoshoot. 🩷

Hi everyone, it’s been a little while. I’ve taken the past few months away from the grid to focus on healing after the loss of my brother, Dane. Your support during that time meant the world to me—thank you for sharing, reaching out, and holding space for my family and me. It has meant so much.

Between personal grief and distress over the state of the world, it's been a lot. But I’m feeling ready to get back into what I love: creating for my family and friends- that includes you! It’s been a really tough road, and while I’m still struggling and healing, I’m excited to start pouring myself into my art again.

Here’s a piece from before Christmas that I’m excited to share with you all. A gorgeous, bow-back showstopper of a holiday dress! 🌟

I was thinking about Privilege today. What a Privilege to be able to vote, and what a Privilege to be able to not vote and still have a decent life without consequence.
56% of Ontarians didn't vote last election. 56%!!!
I don't know how to tell you how I feel about this. I feel devastated, I guess. I think it's appalling, I think it's shameful. We watch wars in other countries i folks there would (and do) quite literally die for the right to vote, for the right to live, for the right to be free.
We honour Remembrance day every year but 56% of Ontarians forgot that all of those people who died were literally fighting so that we could live in a free and democratic society.

What has happened? What are we doing? Why are we so complacent? Why can't we take 30 minutes out of our day to show our neighbours that we give a damn; to show the world that we recognize and honour our Privilege and those that fought for it and we will do something with it?

I beg you to remember that voting is a tremendous privilege and we cannot take it for granted. Visiting Vimy in November reminded me how damned Privileged I am, and I will do literally the easiest thing to honour the millions of lives lost and vote. Every damn time.

We are SO Privileged to live in Canada, in Ontario, but I see the cracks. The cracks in the education system as we consider changing my son's school for next year because his teacher worries he will fall too far behind when the class sizes jump to 36 kids because class size caps are much too high once kids hit grade 4. The cracks in the medical system as I opt to stay home and wait out a terrifying croup cough in my child instead of wait 17 hours in the hospital emergency room. The cracks everywhere.

Please. I BEG you. VOTE. Remind your friends to vote. Remind your family to vote. Remind your neighbours and the people in the checkout line with you that it's voting day. Offer someone a ride to a polling station. Remind folks they only need an ID.
Vote like our kids lives depend on it. Because they do.
