Meyi and Friends

Meyi and Friends Little conversations. Big lessons 💛
Following Meyi as she navigates life as a young girl in Canada, with friends along the way. Inspired by real-life experiences

My 10 year old said “no offense,” then said something not so nice to her brother. When I caught it, she told me it was meant to make him feel better about what she’d just said. But he felt offended anyway.

Have you noticed how kids use “no offense” and then go on to say something hurtful? Does adding it really make any difference?

👇 Have you experienced this? Tell me in the comments.

Gossip doesn’t always look like bullying. Sometimes it hides behind “don’t tell anyone, but…”

Teach your kids this early. If someone gossips to you about others, they will gossip about you too. And the bravest thing you can do is simply not join in.

As kids head back to school, we prepare them with supplies and schedules. We spend much less time preparing them for the harder part.

Most kids won’t call it bullying. They just feel bad, and then they decide they’re probably overreacting.

This series shows them they’re not. Meyi and Sophie take one real situation at a time, work out whether it’s bullying, and land on what to do next, which is almost always the same thing. Tell someone.

That feeling was right. It’s worth telling an adult about.

New one every day until school starts. Meyi returns September 1st.

So many kids don’t realise you don’t have to say the mean word to be part of it. Laughing along is part of it too.

Have you talked to your child about what to do when everyone else is laughing?

Kids don’t always know what bullying actually looks like.

Sometimes it is loud and obvious. But sometimes it seems funny, to the detriment of one child.

Teach them this. If it keeps happening and it is always the same person getting hurt, that is bullying. Even if nobody calls it that.

Have you talked to your child about the difference between teasing and bullying?

Behind every Meyi episode is a whole lot of chaos. 😅

The tools are not perfect yet 😂

You have all been asking for longer videos, YouTube and even a movie. Believe me I want that too. This is just a little peek at how much work goes into every single episode and how far the tools still have to go.

We are getting there. One hilarious blooper at a time. 🤦‍♀️

Which one made you laugh the most 😂🤣?

Maya only wanted to be friends because Meyi had something she’ll love to show off.

Meyi was happy at first. Then she realised it was never about her. It was about what she had.

So we taught her the difference between a real friend and a convenient one.

Have you or your child ever experienced this?
