Georgian Bay Lacemakers

Georgian Bay Lacemakers We are a small, friendly group of lacemakers who meet every Monday afternoon at the Owen Sound and Area Seniors' Centre. E, in Owen Sound.

We are a small group of lacemakers, men and women, who enjoy making bobbin lace. We meet every Monday afternoon, from 1-4 pm at the Seniors' Centre, 1852 3rd Ave. The meetings are informal, we take turns bringing snack for our tea break, and welcome newcomers and guests. You don't have to know how to make bobbin lace, we will teach you. The very beginnings of Georgian Bay Lacemakers, by Johanna B.

Before we had a name and a group we met with a group at a local bookshop/café, the Ginger Press. The group, Yarn to Yarn, has ceased to exist but we bobbin lacers are still going strong. First there were just Jane D. and me, then Orla and Mavis joined us. The four of us met at various places and after gaining some more members we started meeting at First Babtist Church. We now have 22 members and meet weekly at the Owen Sound and Area Seniors Centre.
