I feel like everyone needs to see the back of a thrift store at least once.

Because THIS is why I thrift.

Everything you’re looking for probably already exists. The clothes. The dishes. The picture frames. The furniture. The toys. The kitchen stuff. The weird little thing you’ve had on your wishlist for six months.

Someone already bought it. Someone already used it. And eventually, a lot of it ends up here.

This is the back of ONE thrift store. Just ONE. Look at how much stuff is waiting to be sorted and given another chance.

We live in a world that constantly convinces us we need the newest version of everything. New clothes every season. New decor every trend. New furniture because the internet decided our old furniture isn’t cute anymore.

Meanwhile, there are literal mountains of perfectly good things that already exist.

And maybe that’s why thrifting has completely changed the way I shop. I don’t automatically think “where can I buy this?” anymore.

I think, “I bet this already exists somewhere. I just have to find it.”

And honestly? The waiting makes finally finding it SO much better. 🥹

There is already enough stuff in this world. Give the old stuff another chance before we make more.

It is getting bad!
I now know what it means “Out of Sight, Out of Mind”
Donating just gives your stuff to someone else and becomes their problem!
Remember, your items don’t disappear they have to go somewhere!

When I was young, my first experience of volunteering was as a candy striper at the St. Joseph’s hospital. It wasn’t a job, it was helping and giving back. I think about those times a lot, over the years and the nice people I met. Some of the residents had no family, or no one to visit them daily. Times sure have changed and I see how we are losing out on the community connection.
The conversations, the experiences, and the growing and learning from those around us.
Volunteering gives back to you and to those YOU help out…🙏🏼🙋🏽‍♀️

Sorry, but I need to vent!!!! 😡😡😡
I experienced the WORST customer service today at a store in town. I don't want to mention the name of the store because I'm not sure how I'm going to proceed.
Sunday morning I bought something from this store. I paid cash for it. I took it home and found out it wasn't any good. So today, less than 24 hours later I took it back to the store and asked if I could get a refund. The girl in the store told me “NO” even though I still had the receipt. I asked if I could get a replacement instead then. Again this person told me "NO." I asked to talk to a manager now as I'm really not happy and I explained that I had just bought the item, had got it home and it wasn't any good. The manager just smiled and told me to my face that I was "OUT OF LUCK." No refund. No FREE replacement. Grrrrrrrrr. 🤬🤬. I'll tell you what...I am NEVER buying another Lottery Ticket from there again ... 😂

🏗️ We’re excited to share some big news for the West Parry Sound District! 🎉

The Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to introduce the Parry Sound Builders Association — a new initiative designed to support and strengthen our local construction and development sector across the West Parry Sound District. 🔨🏡

This association is all about bringing together builders, tradespeople, suppliers, designers, and industry-related businesses to strengthen connections, support growth, and create a unified voice for the sector. Through collaboration 🤝, advocacy 🗣️, networking 📈, and shared opportunities, the goal is simple: build a stronger construction and development community right here in the West Parry Sound District.

A major focus of the association will also be the creation of a trusted directory of established professionals and reputable companies 🏢✔️ to help foster stronger referral networks and encourage residents, businesses, and developers to connect with qualified local industry experts.

The association will be overseen by the Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce alongside an advisory committee made up of industry-related peers, helping ensure the organization reflects the needs and priorities of the sector itself. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️
