This weekend I was meant to join in the walk in Toronto but couldn’t make it due to family commitments — and the weather in Kitchener was too bad for my back up plan to take my mom for a 5k wheelchair walk, so I ended up doing a make up walk today in the beautiful Cavan Hills with a friend who helps my mental health ( best of all he was already kind of wearing orange).
Justice had some feelings about the experiece but he’s pretty good company and we had a chance to explore new paths, check out the birds and stop to enjoy the sound of poplars in the wind while their puffs of pollen snowed down on us.
Mindfulness is one of the skills our family learned in the programs — along with other communication and mental health support skills that we use every day.

Sometimes I should pay more attention to the task at hand than the show I’m listening to. But also. Learning to make lemonade is a good skill too 😅. This is the third pair of socks I’ve made from the pattern by so I guess I got distracted when it came time for a colour switch 🩵🩷

Shed sewing season is officially here! And. Apparently hens really do purr when they feel comforted! ( RIP Miss Frizzle) Lastly. Grateful for the blessing of a quick visit from a wild neighbour the other night —- definitely has places to be.

When you have a kid that likes your hand made socks and even will wear a pair that pairs with you and you are inheriting a whole mess of sock wool —- you have three good reasons to take public transit on top of saving your sanity from traffic stress and the world being on fire

Recently received a sweet little order of weigh slings from a repeat customer I’ve worked with for over a decade. As a thanks, packed her order in this little tote, made from some really cute Thrifted fabric given to me by a friend whose aunt had a friend who loved fabric. And this is how circular economies work. Through connections rather than consumption.

Hello friends. If you believe that Canada should not be building an economy based on the sale of weapons and technologies that are being used by our “allies” against civilian populations — armoured vehicles from Ontario to be used by 🧊 and munitions and guidance systems used against 🍉 — let your voice be heard.
Support the private members bill from to demand the closure of loopholes in Canadian export policies, and call your MP. (I mispoke in the video --- the vote for the bill is at the end of February, but BE LOUD NOW!) Also call your MPP to say no against the gleeful endorsement of our premier on exporting items that will be used against American citizens in the course of their exercising the right to peaceful assembly and protest.
