Ben Sitek Obituary
Heaven just got a little more fun!
It is with profoundly heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Ben Sitek on Tuesday, July 28th 2026. Ben was the best friend and cherished husband of Wendy, and devoted father of Bobi-Jo (Chad 2005)(Scott), Derik (2006), and Cory (Avery). Proud grandfather of Zack, Ryder (Hailey), and Tyce. Great grandfather of Axel. Son of Tillie and Ed (2014) and son-in-law of Esther (Harvey 2009) and Jack (Lauree). Brother to Alice (Ron), and Richard. Uncle to Tyler (Nikki; Jean, Josephine, and Cassandra) and Holly (Maddie). Good friend to Sue, Brian, Paul, Kenny, Mark, Roy, Harp, and many extended family and friends.
Ben was born in Poland and came to Canada in 1959 where he made Petrolia his home. He was a pillar of the community and was the proud owner of Mister B’s Casual Men’s wear. Over the decades he made many friends, tailored many clothes, repaired cherished garments, and made sure the community always looked their best.
On weekends, and in retirement, Ben could often be found on the golf course; always chasing after that one perfect shot.
Ben was a man of many passions, but none exceeded his love of music. For 60 years he was a prolific keyboardist and performed across Ontario. His music transcended genres and he was widely known for his dynamic left hand bass. One of the greatest pleasures of his life was reconnecting with Sue after they started their musical journeys together over 40 years ago. Performing alongside her over the past year and a half filled his life with renewed joy and energy.
Although he will be deeply missed by all, anyone who knows him knows that his music will play on.
