UV Awareness Month

May is UV Awareness Month, a reminder to protect your eyes from harmful UV exposure all year long, not just in the summer.

We help by offering higher index lenses with built in UV protection, along with a wide selection of sunglasses and magnetic sunclip options for added coverage and protection.

UV rays are present even on cloudy days and can reflect off surfaces like water, snow, and pavement, which can increase exposure. Long term UV exposure is linked to cataracts, macular degeneration, pinguecula, and photokeratitis (sunburn of the eye).

Consistent daily protection goes a long way, especially if you spend time outdoors. Stop by or call our office to learn more about UV protection options for your eyewear.
