🍂 Wool Month 2025 🍂

For Wool Month 2025, my favourite photographer and I took to the winding coast of Northern New Brunswick and Gaspé, Québec to explore the land our family has called home for more than 250 years.

Along the way, we stopped to photograph some of the Canadian wool products I've brought to life for my clients.

Now I'm sitting down to create a few Look Books that showcase the incredible work of our farmers, their sheep and our millers. Stay tuned…

Summer Internship Collaboration with École supérieure de mode de l'ESG UQAM

This summer, I had the pleasure of working with Nicolle Palacio, an intern from L'École supérieure de mode de l'ESG UQAM. I challenged her to design and build a Canadian wool traceability database to track wool inventory. Our conversations were as enriching for me as they were for her. That's the beauty of working with interns; we learn from their approach, their energy and how they see the world. I’ve shared some reflections on wool traceability in a blog post that will be live on my website soon. Nicolle has now graduated from UQAM and is heading to the Malmö University in Stockholm. She has a bright future ahead of her.

Collaboration estivale avec l’École supérieure de mode de l'ESG UQAM

Cet été, j’ai eu le plaisir de travailler avec Nicolle Palacio, stagiaire à l’École supérieure de mode de l’ESG UQAM. Je lui ai confié le défi de concevoir une base de données de traçabilité de laine canadienne pour suivre mon inventaire. Nos échanges ont été aussi enrichissants pour elle que pour moi. C’est toute la richesse du travail avec les stagiaires : on apprend de leur regard, de leur énergie et de leur façon de voir le monde.

J’ai partagé quelques réflexions sur la traçabilité de la laine dans un blogue qui sera bientôt en ligne sur mon site.

Nicolle est maintenant diplômée de l’UQAM et s’envole vers l’Université de Malmö à Stockholm. Un bel avenir l’attend!

Updated: I'm looking to source 2,000 lb of grey and/or coloured Canadian sheep's wool. Here are the criteria:

1. no Romanov or hair sheep crosses
2. ideally from commercial flock/crosses
3. grey, brown, black accepted
4. ideal micron 27µ to 31µ s
5. staple length max. 3.5"
6. 2024 or 2025 clip
7. sorted and skirted
8. available to move to scouring before June
