I’m sitting here with the keys handed over to the new tenant… and I’m feeling all the feels.

Sadness, because this space felt like such a huge milestone. It looked like success. It felt like something I could finally point to and say, “We did it.”

Relief, because the bills were so high, the staffing was more than I ever truly felt capable of carrying, and somewhere along the way I became someone I barely recognized. I constantly felt like I was being pulled in a million directions.

Shame, because part of me wonders why I couldn’t just keep going, even though deep down I know it never really aligned with the life I wanted.

And excitement… because I’m finally heading back toward the version of Elle’s that gave me life. The version that let me be a mom, a wife, a friend, and a person who actually had space to show up for the people I love. I lost that for a while.

Today was full of hugs and goodbyes. Friends stopped by. Employees came through. We handed the keys over and officially closed our five-year Carleton chapter.

Then everyone left.

And now it’s just me, sitting alone in an empty store with my thoughts.

I know this is the right decision for my business. I know it’s the right decision for my mental health. But knowing it’s right doesn’t make it easy.

So here’s to a new era of Elle’s.

We’re bringing back the OG. The quirky little boutique that started this whole thing. The version built with heart instead of square footage. We’ve grown, we’ve learned, we’ve chased big dreams, and we’ve seen what’s possible.

But sometimes your roots are exactly where you’re meant to be.

This isn’t goodbye.

It’s more like… “Hey. Let’s start fresh.”

I can’t wait to welcome you into our new space and start this next chapter together.
