When my son Justin was born,there is nothing I liked more than to take long walks and enjoy the fresh air with my newborn comfortably sleeping in his stroller.Then came winter and I switched the stroller for those common little sleds on the market. The first time I used it on the snowy street, I was annoyed by the fact that the baby was always sliding on his back in the sled.The covers I was using to keep him warm were always unfolding and I had to put them back again and again. I was always turning back to see if baby was doing ok since I had to pull the sled. One day I used snow shoes to walk in a trail and the sled was shifting from left to right almost capsizing everytime there was a bump. It capsized a few times and baby wasn't very happy about that. Since the sled was at ground level the wind would blow snow in his face. I continued to use the sled because there was no other options. Then one day I went to a community happening celebrating winter. Almost all the parents including me would carry their child in a sled and we had to walk in the crowded place, exposed to anyone who might run or walk without looking down to see that a baby was in his sled.I have seen the same situation at the bottom of the slopes in ski resorts. But this time people would walk between people with skis and poles. I was really uncomfortable by this situation and was shocked and frustrated the day I saw a dog urinating on a baby that was in the same kind of sled I had. That was it! There must be something better than this prehistorical tool to carry children in winter conditions. I went back home and started to think how I could still use my baby's beloved stroller. I kept in mind the KISS principle (Keep it simple stupid) and the idea poped !! I had to transform this idea into reality so it took me 5 years to end up with the final product.The Clapp baby slider was born.
