Quel privilège d'être à Hamilton aujourd'hui pour la cérémonie de passation de commandement de la Marine royale canadienne, tenue devant le légendaire NCSM Haida.

Nous félicitons le Vice-amiral Dan Charlebois pour sa nomination à titre de commandant de la Marine royale canadienne et remercions le Vice-amiral Angus Topshee pour son leadership et son service au cours des dernières années.

Présidée par la Générale Jennie Carignan, chef d’état-major de la Défense, cette cérémonie a rappelé une vérité importante: les commandements changent, mais ce sont les femmes et les hommes en uniforme qui assurent la continuité de la mission, jour après jour.

Nous étions également fiers de voir le nouvel uniforme à col montant (High Collar Whites) porté lors de cette occasion marquante. Ce nouveau design met en valeur l’expertise et le savoir-faire canadiens à toutes les étapes de sa fabrication, de l’approvisionnement des matières jusqu’à la confection.

Félicitations au Vice-amiral Charlebois et merci à tous les membres de la Marine royale canadienne pour leur service.

Earth Day is a reminder that collective action makes a difference. 🌿
More than 100 members of our team recently took part in workshops on the textile supply chain.
Together, they explored the environmental and social impacts of the industry while identifying concrete actions to apply in their day-to-day roles. A great way to learn, reflect, and take action as a team.🌍

Giving back 🎀
More than 13,000 metres of fabric were donated to Our Social Fabric -Textile Recycling Initiative, a non-profit organization where circularity is at the heart of community action.
These fabrics will find a new life in the organization’s store, helping generate funds that directly support its community programs.
By donating these textiles, we take part in a meaningful effort: allowing reclaimed materials to support local initiatives, the sharing of skills, and access to creative practice.
Through this approach, Our Social Fabric diverts textiles from landfills and transforms them into tangible resources for the community.

Montreal dressed up for the 5th edition of the mmode Gala, a gathering that shines a light on the talents shaping the fashion and textile industry.
More than 350 guests took part in this colourful evening, where Logistik proudly presented three awards highlighting excellence and emerging talent:
Valéry Larouche for Mikuniss Collection, recipient of the grant for an Indigenous-owned business
Grégoire Cantin, recipient of the one-year paid internship in technical design
Alix Ouellet, recipient of the one-year paid internship in textile development and procurement
Thank you to mmode for this beautiful celebration of local talent. The future of fashion is in good hands.

Today, we honor the memory of survivors, families, and Indigenous communities affected by residential schools. This day reminds us of the importance of listening, respect, and reconciliation.
Tonight, at the mmode gala, we will present for the 3rd year the Indigenous-Owned Business Distinction Award. This award recognizes a company that embodies innovation, excellence, and the sustainable development of its community, while showcasing ancestral know-how.
Since 2023, we’ve had the privilege of celebrating inspiring journeys, from Bastien Canada to Matsheshu Creations. Tonight, a new laureate will join this story.
