The Sewist Mastering the Art of Fabric Mastering the art of fabric since 2012, we are a sewing studio and fabric store dedicated to providing a creative space for our thriving sewing community!

I am a self taught seamstress who learned the love of sewing from my mom and grandmother. I love to create for my two children, and I love the fulfillment that I get when I see how much they enjoy what I make, and receive compliments from friends and strangers. I want to share that sense of accomplishment and pride with my students. The options for sewing instruction these days are limited, but t

he need and desire for it is great (just look at Etsy or Pinterest), I want to help make sure that the art and skill of sewing is passed onto the next generation by helping create confident, self-reliant, and skilled sewists.

A look back at our Fibre Art Camp! 🧵

This week brought stories, landscapes, mosaics, abstract pieces, and plenty of ideas that took on a life of their own! Every project started with the same basic materials and came up with some seriously creative results.

It was a fun mix of techniques and ideas, and a pretty good reminder that you can do a lot with a pile of scraps and some imagination. ✨
