Got a chance to check out Blue Hens Markets and Roadshows and Melissa’s new space yesterday - stunning!! (I was so in awe I didn’t take any inside photos was too busy admiring her amazing work on the church Reno and the lovely vendors she has - great mix of antiques and handmade vendors)

Her page has lots of great photos/videos and vendor info. Congrats Melissa on this new venture can’t wait to see what comes from it !

Happy Easter!

Whether you celebrate religiously or through small eggs hidden all over your house with chocolate (or both) may today be a great day for you.

This weekend we also celebrated the girls turning 7! Many of you have been along the journey since they were born, the inception of the store and the adventures that have since come. Where did 7 years go?

Still not sure what’s next in the journey but for now enjoying a fun filled weekend full of birthday and Easter celebrations with my girls!

Mixing old with new - and keeping it simple 🤍

So excited to have a Suzanne Faris original to add to my front enterance way. I have adored her work for the longest time and these stunning dried flower blocks - something about the simplicity of the wood tones and I love the sage green with my decor.

I also love how it works with the natural tones of this crock I just picked up a few weeks ago. Ironically from Medicine Hat Suzanne 😉

The suitcase holds hats/mitts etc to keep them easily accessible but out of sight and the little vintage wicker chair is the perfect size for the girls to sit and put their shoes on.

There is the saying that goes “out with old, in with the new” and that is exactly what 2024 is for us!

As many of you know the last 3 years have been one hell of a ride for the girls and I …

My basement has been a not so happy space, the old “man cave” of what was our family home then turned into storage space of a business … this has been a work in progress one I had avoided for too long.

I am proud to say I have done it all on my own. From ripping up old carpet and carpet tack (hate that stuff!) to wallpapering and painting, to sourcing and building furniture this has been a labour of love for a new begging with my girls. (No I will not be getting into the home renovation/design business anytime soon haha!)
This fall my goal was to get to work and have this complete by the new year.

The girls have never used the basement we hadn’t had a need or was it useable but this year for Christmas I surprised them with a new space to play! Most kids get toys for Christmas my kids got an entire playroom!

The vintage/store stuff is compeltly gone, have a bit of clothing to still part with but packed up into a closet - but 2024 brings new beginnings and letting go of the past completely. In the next while this page will be closed off for good … as we move into what’s next, who knows? but it is time to finally let go and embrace what might come.

Thank you for all your support over the last number of years. When asked do I miss having the store, more than you know! But that isn’t something that can happen again for awhile - maybe one day when I retire … for now I focus on my job of being a mom to two amazing little girls and excited about the new memories this space will bring.

Here’s to new beginnings. Here’s to This Girl (not being) Vintage anymore …. And that’s okay!! 🙂 goodbye to the old and in with the new!
