I have a few new things that will be launching on etsy for baby by 6 PM Sask Time
Being an auntie to four little ones I'm obsessed with has given me lots of inspiration. As always, things are low in price, made from recycled fabric, and inspired by the natural world I grew up in and love so dearly. These items are small batch ONLY. Each item is unique and always hand made.

It's been a minute! Since starting my pandemic baby before my Master's program I didn't realize how crazy busy I would be! Playing around with my creative ability has been a lot of fun! I'd like to treat you guys to a clearance sale to bring in the new year. Look forward to new items this year for baby, home, and for yo'self. I will hopefully be posting and making much more in the next few months.
I'd also like to announce that part of all purchases from now on will be donated to local environmental programs, such as Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation Living Sky is a fantastic organization who not only rehabilitates injured and orphaned Saskatchewan wildlife, but also hosts educational programs to teach children on being kind to nature. If that's not what Winter Crocus stands for, I don't know what is! 50% of this sale will be contributed to this organization.

When my boyfriend's mother asked me if I knew how to make toddler scrunchies for a 3 year old, I said the same thing I do to anyone with suggestions: "I don't have them right now but I'll teach myself how." So I did!

Like many small etsy, or other e-commerce small businesses, Winter Crocus is run and kept up by one person and has some costs included to maintain the shop. I super wish that I could offer free shipping, but unfortunately Canada Post is rather pricey even within SK, and stamping is not feasible. With a heavy heart, I've made the decision to include a $10 shipping fee for every order under $20. I am working on new releases and I promise you that every package delivered to you has the most care put into it, with you and the earth in mind. I apologize for any inconvenience the shipping fee may cause. Please message me with any concerns.
If anyone has any suggestions for alternative shipping methods in Canada , I so welcome you! Solutions for small businesses offers a very small discount but otherwise, there are few alternatives I know of.

What's up?
I want to introduce myself! My name is Christie. I'm finishing my last year of Archaeology and Environmental Biology. I grew up in Southern Saskatchewan and I'm very fond of wildlife, historical and archeological preservation and basically learning and exploring the world around me! I was recently accepted into Master's in Archaeology, and I'm hoping to research climate change impacts on sites around Canada. I am an auntie, a daughter, a sister, a girlfriend.
I started this because I like keeping my hands busy, and I like crafting. I recieved my grandmother's sewing machine, made myself a blanket, and didn't want to throw the waste away. So I made something useful, a scrunchie! I gave some away, and found that I could maybe take the opportunity and do more with what I started.
In the past 2 months, I've made over 100 scrunchies from recycled material. With the remaining material, I'm doing more.
With my spare time, I press ethically sourced flowers, and I'm hoping to educate people about and advocate for wild flora in Saskatchewan with the accessories I make from them. I teach myself everything I do and I am so so open to feedback and to improving.
For your home, for the people in your life, for yourself. I hope to represent the beauty of the province I grew up in with you and the planet in mind.
