I am so happy to be able to quilt H’s ! She is such a wizard with fabric and colour choices, and her sewing is impeccable😍. This one will be all a light density
So I just start by doing stitch in the ditch around all of the coloured seeds and flying geese. Just changed to gray thread from white to match the background because it shifts from white at the top to black at the bottom,,

Today I’m working on another one of my own quilts. A few years ago, my friend told me that she Shows a lot of her scraps into half square triangles so that she always has a big stack of them on hand. I thought this was a good idea, so I did that as well. When I had quite a lot of them, I decided to use them in a quilt top. I chose a pattern called Pennsylvania pineapples, Wichita found in a book by Barbara Brackman. I have had this book for about 30 years, and it is a treasure trove of ideas. I believe there is a newer version of it as well. I made 16 blocks, and then I put on some borders. This is where I had to stop myself from adding more borders. I have a tendency to just keep adding more and more borders. Do you ever do that? Or are you a person who stops the quilt without adding any borders at all? I’m interested in the reasoning of why people add borders or not. If you have a reason, could you share it with me in the comments?

Hello again, 👋 This is Michelle, back again after a six month break from longarm quilting. I decided that I would get back into practice by doing one of my own quilts with an edge to edge panto called Timber. so far so good😀.
