For this custom closet, **drawers made more sense.**

They keep smaller items contained, reduce visual clutter, and make it easier to give everything a designated home — without having to keep every stack perfectly folded just to make the closet look organized.

Because a well-designed closet isn’t about adding as much storage as possible. It’s about choosing the **right kind of storage for the way you actually live.**

Shelves have their place. Drawers have theirs. Good closet design knows the difference.

After 15 years of designing custom closets, we don’t notice the mess first—we notice what’s causing it.

Here’s what stands out immediately:

Too much wasted vertical space
If everything is packed onto one rod with empty space above or below, the closet isn’t working nearly as hard as it could.
The wrong mix of storage
Too many shelves, not enough drawers—or endless hanging space for someone who folds most of their clothes.
