Made By Alex NS I design and make functional items, children's wear, home furnishings and seasonal objects of interest primarily using recycled and repurposed materials.

How it all began.............

Encouraged from an early age by a long line of crafters and seamstresses, I was inspired to make instead of buy.

'Make something special, something personal, something unique.'

However it wasn't until I had my daughter in 2008 and took voluntary redundancy was I driven to make her clothes. Looking around locally you could instantly tell which shops parents bought

their children's clothes in and until they are of the age to tell us what they want to wear they are a reflection of our style and taste. In my case I could never find exactly what I was after at a sensible price which left me very fustrated. So I started making dresses at first, dungarees and then on to hats and 'jazzing up' shop bought t-shirts. I started getting lovely comments about the clothes and requests for something similar and that's how I got started. Every piece I make is individual, even if it looks the same as something else there will always be difference in way of fabric, colour or decoration detail.
