Two new garment workshops have been added to our virtual calendar and we are exited to make them with you! Join us for the Merchant & Mills Factory Dress and Top in August and the Merchant & Mills 101 Trouser in September.
We're always looking for fun new additions to our Handmade Wardrobe collection and we have had our eye on these two for a while.
Inspired by working women, with a dash of the Twenties. The Factory Dress slips over the head, features pockets and ready-rolled up sleeves.
The 101 Trousers are a gentle drawstring trouser with side pockets and a false fly, cut to sit on the waist. Featuring 3 versions – cropped & tapered trouser, wide straight trouser or shorts - so you can make the ideal length.
There are still lots of opportunities to sew with us this summer and expand your me made wardrobe including:

* Scout Shirt & Dress - Thursday, June 18 - July 23 (In Session)
* Sanda Jacket - Tuesday, July 7, 14, 21 & 28 - (In Session and perfect project for that Jacquard you've been stashing!)
* Honey Dress - Saturday, July 11, 18 & 25
* Quinn Pants - Tuesday, August 4, 11, 18 & 25
* Factory Dress - Thursday August 20, 27 & September 3
* 101 Trousers - Saturday September 12, 19 & 26
Don't forget Members of our online studio save $25 on every class registration. 😉

We've continue to slowly refining what we carry at the workroom. Less of absolutely everything, more of what we love and truly use. This kind of editing is how we work to keep the shop sustainable and it means some good things need to find new homes.
We've just done a sweep and tagged everything we'd love to see land with someone who'll use it. Patterns, hardware, elastics and notions we won't be reordering and several floor models of Bernina Feet all 40% off right now. Quantities are limited so have a look before they are gone.

We hit 500 YouTube subscribers this week - ten times what we've had for the last few years, and halfway to our goal of 1000 by the end of summer.
This week's video: Karyn's most recent Esme Cardigan, and her possible controversial take on seam binding.
Here's why we're putting more energy into YouTube specifically: three-minute Instagram reels are fun to make, but so much gets cut for time - the details about process, construction choices, the "why" behind decisions. Long-form video is where we can actually show you that stuff without chopping it to bits. More and more, YouTube is where we watch things instead of traditional shows, and we suspect a lot of you are the same.
If you haven't already - subscribe to our channel and if you know someone who'd like it, send them the link. Every subscriber gets us closer to 1000 this summer. Thank you for your help reaching our goal!

There are some epic garments happening in our summer workshops especially some amazing plaid Scout Dresses. We love when the class feed starts to fill with project updates. Folks have been knocking it out of the park.
We always spend a good amount of time going over project planning, sizing and pattern possibilities which really sets a good foundation. The results really show!
We just started the Sanda Jacket class this week and those are going to be equally wonderful just based on everyone's varied fabric choices & plans. Stay tuned - or jump in with us! We've been leaving the doors open to our current workshops, for anyone who wants to catch up with the replays and notes. There's no need for FOMO here.
