I have had experience over the last 18 years running my own business as a paint finisher including many kinds of decorative finishes on walls and furniture. I have experience with glazes, Italian plasters, crackles, lime plasters, natural stone FX, frottage, wax, and metallic paints and gold, silver and copper leaf. I have painted many kitchens and pieces of furniture, using many kinds of chalk paint and Benjamin Moore paints and many other materials to achieve the desired look. I have also helped customers with design in their homes including paint choices and custom painting including entire houses.

This taught me about colour, mixing colour and textures. I started to learn how to paint canvas by taking classes at the Haliburton School of Art about 12 years ago and The Bay School of Art. I have regularly attended workshops and have studied encaustic painting, oils and painting plein air. I have entered a number is shows successfully where I have won awards for my work. I have been teaching at The Bay School of Art as well as having my own art classes and also still painting furniture and custom painting for clients and architects/builders.

I thought it might be time for me to start my own ‘Bydarla page’ to showcase my work. Maybe I will even do some blogging.......here we go.
