Who are you trying to impress?

Some mornings, even now, I wake up and have to ask myself who I am. That sounds dramatic. I’ve always been a little dramatic. But it’s honest.

For a long time, I felt like one big cake baked in the oven of people-pleasing, held together by a secret ingredient: a desperate need to be accepted. Accepted by who? I couldn’t tell you. I just hoped they would liked me.

These days, it doesn’t look like fitting in with a popular crowd or chasing the next “right” plan. It looks like building a business with God at the center and wondering if it makes sense to anyone else. It looks like explaining the business and watching people tilt their heads, trying to categorize it.

“It’s a journal?”
“Is it ministry?”
“Can you actually make money doing that?”

And for a moment, I’m tempted to edit the vision. To make it sound more impressive. Something that fits neatly into a box people already respect.
But the truth is, More Than Able was never meant to impress people. It exists because I know what it’s like to need something tangible to hold onto when faith feels fragile.

People don’t remember how impressive your brand looked or how perfectly you explained your purpose. They remember how you made them feel. Did you encourage them? Did you speak truth gently? Did you love people well? Were you a vessel for Jesus, even when it wasn’t trendy or profitable?

And whether God calls you to build a business, work a 9–5, stay home, create, lead, or serve quietly — do it. Do it boldly. Do it faithfully.

This year stretched us in ways we never saw coming, yet through every high and low, God has remained unwaveringly faithful. Thank you for walking alongside us and supporting More Than Able in our first year of business. As we step into 2026, our hearts are full and our eyes are lifted, expectant of all the Lord has prepared.

May you be reminded today and always: God is more than able, no matter the circumstances. He is worthy of our praise forever more.
