Another gorgeous wedding dress altered. This dress had close to a 6 ft train which this bride felt was not manageable. I shortened the train by almost 3 ft for her, added a one point bustle, and hemmed the dress all around. Shoulder straps were custom made to make the bodice feel more secure. I also let out the zipper for her by about an inch, as the dress came in a bit too tight unfortunately. Only needed one final try on and all fit perfectly. I was very pleased with the results, and so was the bride.

This beautiful Mother of the Bride dress posed a couple different than the norm, challenges for me. First I was asked to make sleeves from a matching scarf made of the same fine netting as on the dress. Secondly, the hemline alternating with the same fine netting and sequined dress fabric, is very different than most dresses. I did some slow and careful sewing on both to complete this alteration. What do you think?
