Introducing the Stop and Go Quilt! 🚦✨

Looking for a stunning, queen-sized project that comes together in a breeze? This version of the Stop and Go Quilt by Among Brenda's Quilts is made using the gorgeous Riverview Collection from Fabrics.

The secret to this design? The blocks are made up incredibly quickly using a fun shuffle technique. Once that step is done, the rest of the piecing is absolute smooth sailing!

Fabric Breakdown:

Size: Queen Size 🛏️

The Prints: 40 ten-inch squares. (The Phoebe collection has 10 beautiful prints, so I cut exactly two 10" squares from each one!)

The Coordinates: Combined with a crisp light (white), a warm medium (tan), and a rich darker fabric (taupe) to create that beautiful depth.

Whether you use the exact same Riverview fabrics or clear out some 10" squares from your own stash, this pattern is a joy to stitch up.

Two to Tango is finally here! 🍒✨

I couldn't have asked for a better overcast day to hang this beauty from the deck and get the perfect shot. There is nothing quite like a cloudy sky to really make those fabric colours pop!

The Two to Tango Quilt pattern is officially finished and live on the website!

This design features the gorgeous Cherries & Blossoms collection from Phoebe FabricsPhoebe Fabrics, but it is also incredibly customizable. To help you map out your own version, the pattern includes a couple of handy charts and colouring diagrams so you can plan your fabric placement with total confidence.

The binding is on, but the pushpins are missing! 🫣📌

I finished attaching the binding to my Stop and Go Quilt yesterday and immediately took it outside. I wanted to pin it up on the deck rail so you could see the whole thing, but it turns out I must have left all my pushpins behind at the old shop!

Instead, you get a sneak peek drape over the railing—but honestly, I’m not even mad about it because look at that texture! 🌸✨

I used a poly batt (polyester batting) for this project, and the extra bit of "fluff" gives it beautiful loft. It creates perfect little shadows that really define and show off the Pro-Stitcher quilting design. 🧵🎨

If you love quick, satisfying projects, this pattern is incredibly fun to make thanks to a fast "shuffle" method for cutting and sewing the triangle blocks. I hope you try it soon!

From fabric pieces to a finished quilt top in one weekend—and now it's quilted! 🏁 Ordered chaos at its finest!

I’m hustling to get my Stop and Go Quilt ready for the Common Thread Quilt Show in Ottawa (happening in just a couple of weeks!). This pattern is incredibly fast to whip up using a unique "shuffle" cutting method.

For this version, I used the stunning Riverview collection by Green Acre Design from Ottawa’s own Phoebe Fabrics . The colors are just perfect for this design!

Yesterday was quilting day at The Wobbly Bobbin Sewing Studio. I got to use my Baby Lock Regalia quilting machine, which lives at the studio for now until we relocate to a bigger home.

I have a little confession: I am a total beginner at longarm quilting on this machine, and a complete newbie with Pro-Stitcher! (Pro-Stitcher is the specialized computer program that tells the machine exactly how to stitch out automated digital designs).

It is definitely tricky when you’re learning from scratch, but Kelley Richardson was a total lifesaver and helped me through every single hurdle. Thank you so much, Kelley! I will master this machine one day! 💪🧵

Today is binding day, so the finish line is in sight. Keep an eye out for the final reveal here, or come see it on display at the show in Ottawa!

It takes Two to Tango! 💃✨

I am so excited to give you a sneak peek of my newest pattern design, Two to Tango, releasing sometime next week!

For this project, I reimagined the traditional Double T block by flipping the values within the blocks to create a beautiful, dancing contrast. I used 10 absolutely lovely prints from the Cherries and Blossoms collection by Canadian textile company Phoebe Fabrics. Various borders repeat those gorgeous prints to pull the entire design together beautifully.

It’s a generous Queen-sized quilt, measuring 88" x 100". Here it is styled on our spare bed—doesn't it look lusciously ready for guests to curl up under? 🥰

The pattern is currently with my editor for its final polish and will be ready for you very soon. Stay tuned for the official release next week!
