Falling in love with the Acorn Easy Press Pen ❤️

✨New in the shop✨

We now carry Acorn Easy Press Fabric Treatment products. I met Shelley and Bernie Tobisch at Quilt Canada (crazy we haven’t crossed paths sooner) and they gave me a combo pack to test out and I used it on my Casserole Quilt that was stitched up with a quilting cottons and a woven cotton for the background fabric. The fabric treatment is non-toxic and prevents uneven shrinking, strengthens fibres, and reduces stretching. My piecing was so much better with the mixed fabrics with the use of the Easy Press! I especially loved using the fabric treatment in their Easy Press Pen!

✨IN THE MAKING MONDAY✨

I made these pants at the beginning of summer and they quickly became my favorite to wear! They are so comfortable and the fit is 👌They were so easy to stitch up and no need for a serger as they have a French seam. These are the Pomona Pant by Anna Allen Sewing Patterns. I chose the Speckled cotton linen blend by Ruby Star Society. The fabric is the perfect weight and washes up nicely. We all need a pair of these 😉

If you’ve been planning to come but haven’t signed up yet, I suggest you don’t wait much longer. Anyone who has asked me to reserve a spot, but hasn’t registered yet, please do so as soon as possible as I need to know how many spots we actually have left. ✨WELCOME TO IN THE MAKING ON MONDAY✨

Thought we would start something new to share what we’re stitching in our free time.

Today I’m making the Casserole Quilt, which has been on my bucket list for almost a decade. I fell in love with Elizabeth’s redesign and didn’t waste a moment to get started on it. I’ve been at this project on and off since June. Not going to lie it’s unusual for me to work on something this long, but I’m really enjoying how it is all turning out. Hopefully I will have the quilt top finished tonight 🤞
