de Montigny Contemporary in Ottawa presents Mammatus, a solo exhibition by Gillian King, on view until July 25. Featuring sewn and stuffed paintings inspired by the unique forms of mammatus clouds, the series explores atmospheric and emotional states of tension, release, and transformation.

Blouin Division in Montreal presents Lumière, Wanda Koop’s first exhibition in the city since her 2024 solo show at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

On view through July 25, the exhibition features Koop’s new Untethered series, exploring themes of cosmic motion, planetary beauty, and the interplay of light and shadow. Anchored by a monumental red sun painting, the works reflect on humanity’s relationship with the natural world, technology, and the unknown.

Don't miss your last chance to experience John Abrams’ exhibition “The First Four Minutes” on view until July 11 at Christopher Cutts Gallery in Toronto.

This exhibition presents a new body of work by the Toronto-based painter, based on the opening sequence of Jean-Luc Godard’s 1960 film À bout de souffle (Breathless). The series focuses exclusively on the film’s first four minutes, featuring more than sixty small-scale oil paintings, three large canvases, and a video work.

In “The First Four Minutes,” Abrams fragments the iconic French film into an array of extracted images. The artist’s painterly touch distills scenes charged with anticipation and narrative momentum into singular, elegant compositions, suspending fleeting moments between action and reaction. Each painting is a meditation on narrative, atmosphere, and gesture, exploring the latent tension contained within a single film still.

This is the final week to experience Sarah Tompkins' debut solo exhibition, "Bad Alchemy," at Olga Korper Gallery in Toronto, on view until July 11.

In the exhibition Sarah Tompkins draws upon the mythology and material logic of alchemy as a framework for understanding painting itself. Historically, alchemy promised impossible transformations: the transmutation of base metals into gold, the discovery of universal remedies, the pursuit of hidden knowledge through fire, experimentation, and faith. For Tompkins, these pursuits become an analogy for the act of painting, where intention collides with uncertainty and where every mark enters a chain reaction whose outcome can never be fully known.

Ceremonial/Art presents Jake Kimble’s inaugural solo exhibition in Vancouver, "Take Two Moons & Call Me In The Morning," on view on view through August 1.

A Chipewyan (Dënesųłıné) artist, Kimble explores photography through a Northern lens, reflecting on the healing power of the cold and the transformative experience of two full moons during their residency at the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture in Dawson City, Yukon.

This new body of work intertwines acts of self-care, self-repair, and a playful approach to survivance, offering a testament to the North’s ability to restore and inspire.

Galerie Nicolas Robert in Montreal presents "Dexter Barker-Glenn: Model Collapse". On view until July 11.

The data-centers drain our aquifers, the bots poison our discourse, the corporations announce record profits and layoffs in the same ChatGPT breath-written press release. They assure us there is nothing to be done; they shrug off the LLM’s hallucinations; they insist the bubble won’t burst. They declare the autonomous drones will only kill the enemy, but admit they don’t know the answers, They shrug and say everything is inevitable. Inexorable. The sea boils, the forests burn, the air fills with poison. The machines hum through the night, bristling with revelations. And we watch, paralyzed, as the future builds like thunderheads above a barren plain. ELLEPHANT in Montreal presents Sabrina Ratté’s exhibition, "Inframondes," which runs until June 30, 2026, transforming both the ELLEPHANT gallery and Peace Park.

Inside the gallery, visitors can experience three captivating works: two video pieces, "Survey of Waves" (2026) and "Archipels" (2025), alongside the interactive installation "Pharmakon" (2025). Pharmakon invites viewers to engage with a book of plants, where the boundaries between remedy and poison blur as they turn its pages.

In partnership with OFFTA, four striking images from "Survey of Waves" are displayed on large-scale light boxes in Peace Park, extending the exhibition’s reach into the public space.
