KNACK Online | KNACK | Think. Feel. Artisans! We believe in respecting and treasuring the creators of beautifull Hello and welcome to KNACK!

We are textile designers by profession and the founders of this brand. Having being brought up in a culturally rich region, the love for crafts had caught roots in our heart since long. Vivid colours and creative techniques always fascinated us and that was partially why we opted to become designer. Becoming a textile designer not only enabled us to admire the intricacy and accuracy with which the

artisans worked but many a times it would sadden us to see how their skills were so underrated and that they hardly received any support from the government. A little experience in the Canadian textile industry was all that we needed to gear us up for an incredible design journey! The aim of this design journey is to value the makers of the beautifully crafted pieces we love to adorn ourselves with. It is aimed at providing recognition, international exposure and mentorship to the artisans and to give them their rightful monetary share for their expert utilization of skills, all in hopes of providing them a promising future. The idea is to re-animate the craftsmanship of Pakistan for the western design market; to work on sustainable handcrafted traditional textiles mixed with contemporary design approach in collaboration with artisans to make a unique visual vocabulary living between two cultures, Canada and Pakistan. We contemplated and concluded that the most effective way to upgrade craftsmanship in Pakistan is to direct the artisans’ passion and expertise towards making fashion accessories for the north American market, where each master piece will be dearly cherished. POWER OF CRAFT:

We believe in the attractiveness of goods produced by traditional methods. The truthfulness of our crafts is incomparable, as each handmade piece is distinctively linked to the artisan who created it. But in addition to producing fine-looking design and accessories, supporting the crafts sector in emerging economies provides our artisan partners with economic opportunities not otherwise afforded to them. The crafts sector is the second largest employer in developing countries including Pakistan and allows millions of people to own their own businesses and earn stable incomes. Craft production requires skills that, in many families, are passed on from generation to generation. With the ever-growing demand for handmade products, there is hope that these artisans will be able to provide their children with the privilege of education and a happier future.
