At first the outfit wasn’t quite hitting with just the pink top. Then I thought back to this principle and just like that it felt right:

2 basic neutrals + pop of colour = PRESENCE.

I used black as my dark neutral and white as my light neutral to anchor the strength of the pink to create the intended presence for the day.

Understanding how to put colours together is one thing, but learning the symbology of each colour is what takes it to the next level. Each colour vibrates with its own energy and we can use this to enhance our wellbeing.

This is why I chose to use an authoritative neutral like black to layer over the pink.

This principle is a great way to start wearing colour as a someone beginning to explore and experiment.

Our insights from designing clothes and wardrobe consulting since 2008:

1. You the individual are and will always be the main thing. Style and fashion are tools. They exist to help you connect, express, and show up as yourself.

2. Wardrobe consulting gives us clarity on you and what actually works for you. That clarity is what allows us to then design and create pieces that feel genuinely right, not just aesthetically pleasing.

3. Without clarity and intention, you’re not building a wardrobe, you’re accumulating one. The difference are pieces that compound over time versus pieces that date, don’t connect, or never quite get worn.

At W10 we discover what works for you, then we build your wardrobe around it.

25+ mills from around the world. Natural fabrics. Made for you in Canada. 2 year guarantee.

Before you buy one more piece this season; consider these 5 questions.

Your wardrobe should work for you. Not the other way around.

1. Lifestyle: Does my wardrobe serve the life I’m actually living and creating?

2. Colour: Are the colours and shades I’m wearing working with me, or quietly against me?

3. Quality; Am I investing in pieces that allow my style to deepen, or ones that just accumulate?

4. Fit: Are my clothes working with my proportions and body, or am I working around them?

5. Meaning: Does it make me feel like me? And do I know who “me” is?

Save this before your next shopping trip and read our wardrobe building guide through the link in our bio.

Food for thought this Mother’s Day from a current book we’re reading that has beautifully stayed at the top of our minds:

“She is the mature elder, the wisdomkeeper who teaches the mysteries of time and change, who draws us into the mystery with her mature beauty.”

Sacred Geometry for Artists, Dreamers, and Philosophers — John Oscar Lieben

In a world full of trends, you always remain a classic. Happy Mother’s Day From The Team Of W10 Inc.

When the editor-in-chief of Fashion Magazine gets her colour analysis done with you and then writes about it.

If you’re like most fashion pros who love to wear all black, this is your sign that there’s another way. One that works entirely based on you.

And even if you’re not ready to go full blown colour, every palette has its own distinct neutrals; a foundation of versatile basics you can build from, slowly adding pops of colour and patterns over time.

Liz poses the question:

“Why does this decades-old analog method feel so relevant in 2026? In an era of trend overwhelm and near-endless options, it’s freeing to narrow the choices with a directive that bolsters conviction in what you do buy.”

All in all the consult was an invitation to explore and experiment, taking with it what serves you and leaving the rest.

Recently, Liz Guber, Editor-in-Chief of , visited W10 for a colour analysis consultation ahead of the April issue.

A reflection on the experience appears in this month’s editor’s note.

Grateful to the team at FASHION for the thoughtful feature.
