To think that this pool will be all mine in a few short years when my 18 summers run out with my kids…😏

You’ll know how I feel about this ‘18 summers’ thing.

Lemme recap: I don’t like it.

I’ll be honest, it completely triggers my because last week the only memories we made were reaching the end of the internet (for the 137th time. This year.)

And also I’m tired.

More than the usual tired.

Tired + Mom Guilt + Looming deadline about not screwing up parenthood + annoying reminders about making magic even during a heat wave = A Mom who needs a Vacay 😏

I’m starting a new series, it’s called:

‘Activities to Force Your Teens into doing to make the Most out of the 18 Summers’

Ok, I’m still working on a title (suggestions?)

And yes the kids were with me but I couldn’t afford their rates to publish their photos for this post

But the lowdown on Strawberry Picking

🍓: we actually made it in time for the actual season (but still so many strawberries to pick!)

🍓: kids thought I’d do most of the picking 🤦🏽‍♀️

🍓: bribed them with ice cream after (and farm has so many yummy goodies)

🍓 farm animals are a hit for any age

Overall - it was a win. I think.

Now what to do with all the strawberries?

(And is anyone really convinced that our kids are moving out after 18? Have you seen the GTA real estate prices?!?)

Pool selfie 😏

It’s been a scorcher in most places in the country

I tell myself I love the heat

Even when concealer runs away from my under eye bags

Even when my hair frizzes from the humidity but isn’t quite the volume I had in mind

Even when my skin literally breaks out in a rash telling me it’s allergic to the heat

But I’d take this over the frigid winters. Except when I have hot flashes, then I’m living hot mom summer all year round 😎😜

Who else is hot, yep, just hot?

Me? I'm going to try to wear as many of my new summer dresses as I can, like this one from .

It may mean that my neighbours will give me confused looks when I step outside. But then again they've heard me yelling at my kids for the last 10 years because I like to keep the windows open in the summer.

I miss dragging my kids out to museums

Soon Ontario… soooonnn!! We parents will have our fun once again!

Yes it means forced family outings where I have to contemplate if the grief I endure is worth the ensuing drama

Right now I’m gonna say yes.

But could just be the 7 month lockdown talking 🤷🏽‍♀️

Who else is ready to break out with kids in tow and parent again in public?🙋🏽‍♀️

Brave parents - where will they first public place you take them be and why are you already regretting the decision?

It’s officially summer!

It’s my szn (that’s how the cool kids write season 😏)!

You’ll find me lazing in my backyard with my dying palm plants, reading all the books.

Ok. Most of the books.

Sommmeeeee of the books.

I’ll be reading stuff.

Currently reading this, has anyone read it yet? Thoughts?
