Harvest đŸŒŸ

Goldenrod — picked at just the right time for potency. This infusion only happens once a year, because I like to use the fresh plumes and upper leaves. This gets added to our Muscle & Joint products. And just a hot tip, ‘cause I bet most of you are declaring your allergies for goldenrod. It grows beside ragweed (what you are allergic to), and it’s actually the antidote.

Tulsi — also harvested just a couple of times in the season. It’s one of my favourites to grow. The scent is intoxicating, and I just feel such a beautiful energy from it. This is used for Tulsi & Thyme body oil. Too bad it’s an annual in this zone. I’d love for it to self seed and come back every year.

Rose, my beloved Rose. She’s used in so many formulas. Rose Petal body oil
this is where her magic comes from. It’s not a simple drop of rose essential oil in a random carrier. Her petals are tended to all summer, and gradually harvested, so she can be shared with you. You’ll also find her in your Everyday bottle oil, and many of your face care products.

Marshmallow — blowing in the breeze. Her soft leaves, delicate flowers, and strong roots are a hero product in Everyday Body Oil. She evokes the feminine. She’s sturdy and powerful and gentle and nourishing and restorative and sensual. She’s ruled by the moon. If you’re in the shop these days, you’ll actually see her hanging to dry on our big wood door.

Can we just talk about real s**t around here?
Obviously, I own a business. I make things, I sell things, and yes, I want you to buy them.
But I have a hard time showing up here, just to centre everything around consuming. Just for you to think I’m one person, and then when you meet me IRL, I’m not who you thought I was (it’s happened).

If you come into my bricks and mortar, it’s likely that we’re gonna have a conversation about something other than skincare. You’re never going to be pressured to buy anything. You’ll be invited back over and over again, even if you just want to sit on the sofa, and take a quiet moment for yourself.

Many times you won’t walk out with product, but you’ll know who to go to to take care of your curly hair; or maybe you’ll be ready to book a session with a legit intuitive medium
or maybe you’re just leaving a little lighter after blowing off some steam.

I would love for this space to have more of that, ya know?
Like, let’s just stop performing, and start being real!

First released in 2019. Since then, Sea Buckthorn Serum has remained one of your favourite products.

For the past four years, it has sold more units than any other product we make.

The best part?
It’s my simplest formula.
Just four ingredients.

When I created Sea Buckthorn Serum, I wanted sea buckthorn to be the hero all on its own. The carrier oils were chosen to support it. It’s an extraordinary botanical with so much to offer the skin.

Rich in carotenoids, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and naturally occurring Omega-7, sea buckthorn helps replenish moisture, support the skin’s natural barrier, improve the appearance of elasticity, and calm dry, stressed, and environmentally exposed skin.

Over the years, it’s also become a go-to for many people with sensitive, reactive, rosacea-prone, and acne-prone skin. While I never created it specifically for those skin types, I’ve had countless customers tell me it’s the product they continue coming back to.

Originally created for the face, but so incredibly versatile, many of you use it on your neck, chest, hands, arms, and anywhere your skin needs a little extra nourishment.

And now

It’s finally available in a 100ml size. Oil up!

Our face care collection has sort of always quietly existed in the background, and maybe that’s fitting.

Our products aren’t built around the latest buzzwords or hero ingredients. They’re built around whole plants, meticulously chosen and combined because I believe a formula is more than a collection of ingredients. It’s how those ingredients work together.

That doesn’t mean modern skincare ingredients don’t have value. They absolutely do, and they’ve earned their place. That’s simply not where my interest lies, and to be honest, I have zero desire to keep up.

Your skin is your skin. It needs what it needs. But let’s not overcomplicate things.

As a teen and into early adulthood, my skincare routine was washing my face with water and moisturizing with straight olive oil that I kept in a little bowl. It was simple, and despite my laziness, my skin never gave me trouble.

Years later, when I started Sunday’s Company, that curiosity evolved into understanding the plants themselves. How they’re grown. How they’re prepared. How they interact with one another. And how they support healthy skin as a whole.

Our face care line is tried and true. When customers try it, they tend to stick with it, and that’s why it continues to be our best-selling category, right alongside body oils.

So it’s time to bring it out from the background and give it the attention it deserves.

Not because it’s trendy, but because it works.

Quietly. Consistently. Without asking your skin to constantly chase the next new ingredient.

We’re so often taught to think about skincare in terms of individual ingredients—retinol, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, peptides. But healthy skin is about much more than a single ingredient. It’s about hydration, barrier function, nourishment, inflammation, resilience, and balance.

That’s the conversation I want to have.

Not to dismiss modern skincare, but to make room for another perspective.

One that embraces simpler routines, intuitive skincare, and the remarkable intelligence of whole plants.

Because sometimes the quietest voices have the longest stories to tell.

My entire life has been like watching a slow ripple effect, and this particular season it’s been so so strong. It’s been an intense year, both personally and professionally, but I feel like I’m at the threshold of something. There’s been unease surrounding it, but mostly because of the unknown, and some of the struggles that occur right before something big happens. There has also been a quiet series of moments where I stop and think:
“I remember wanting this”
“Oh, that’s what that meant”
“It’s a good thing I held off on that”

The more I’ve reflected on it, the less I think manifestation is about asking the universe for things. I think it’s about becoming deeply honest with yourself. It’s about knowing exactly what you want, even when it’s uncomfortable. It’s about trusting your intuition enough to make decisions that move you toward that life, long before there’s any proof you’re on the right path. It’s a subconscious act.

If there’s one thing that has consistently guided me through adulthood, it’s my self-awareness, and stubbornness to only follow my intuition, even when it doesn’t make sense to anyone else.

Looking back, I can see that every one of those decisions created another ripple. One led to another, and another, until one day you look around and realize you’re standing in a life you quietly started building years ago.

Maybe that’s what manifestation really is. Although a word that often makes me cringe, it’s the concept that I believe holds magic.
Maybe we just need to trust the process more. Get comfortable with unease, if even for just a little longer.
Recognize signs. Listen to our body’s response.
Somehow, some way, things have always turned out exactly as they’re meant to.

My introduction to, and love affair with Sea Buckthorn began in 2015. It also came with absolute disdain for harvesting them. The thorns, at like 2-3” long, poke and scrape while picking each highly acidic berry. I’m sure you can imagine the discomfort.

After harvest, I need to make them useable in oil, and macerating them fresh is not an option. The water content will just create a jar full of mold and bacteria. That’s a whole process unto its own.

The properties and benefits are endless, though, making it all worth the time and pain.

Over the years I’ve been sourcing berries locally, or ordering them from a farm in Quebec, where they ship their frozen organic berries overnight, where I then have to immediately tend to them so they don’t thaw out.

About 8+ years ago, I planted one male and one female seedling on my land, and left it to do its thing. It’s now grown into a mini-orchard, of about 10 shrubs.
Last year, it fruited for the first time, and this year will be the first year I get to harvest my own berries for production.

The end result, amongst other products, is this little bottle of golden Sea Buckthorn serum. It remains my simplest formula, with just four ingredients, but you know what? Year after year it remains the top selling product, just after lip therapy.

Built on the ethos of “less is more,” this small apothecary challenges the notion that effective skincare must be complex. At times, it’s easy to question that belief in a crowded industry filled with bigger brands and louder voices. Our four-ingredient Sea Buckthorn Serum is a testament to the power of thoughtfully chosen botanicals and the remarkable results simplicity can achieve.

With that, and thanks to the many requests we’ve received over the years, Sea Buckthorn Serum will soon be available in a larger 120ml body oil format. A simple way to invite the restorative power of this good-as-gold berry into your daily body care ritual. 🧡

May 28, four years ago, I opened the doors to a location that was never on my radar of attaining. Not because I didn’t want it. I coveted it so hard, but it was always on a long term lease, so it was no use attaching myself to an idea that I had no control over

Until the tenant gave up their lease early.
Then it was a matter of me blocking my own path:
“Someone with a really good plan needs to jump on that”

“It would be perfect, but that’s a pipe dream”

“I could never pull that off. Sure would be nice if I could, but I can’t afford it anyway”

“Who do I think I am? Taking a spot from someone else who deserves it, when I already have a storefront on Main St” (for context, I had a shop 100 meters down the road).

“The town’s gonna protest that a business like mine is taking up valuable real estate. Something so much better could go in there”

Then one day, mid-pandemic, as I was struggling to work in my 350sqft shop, and running next door, where I rented a back room as a production kitchen, my mindset completely shifted to:

“Wait a second, this my dream space”

“My business is growing. I’ve outgrown two units. My options have run out, in terms of what this little shop can become”

“Not only do I NEED this, but I fkn DESERVE this! I built this business with literally nothing but an unexpected love for plants and a lot of creativity”

“I’m always planting the seed for others to stop their limiting beliefs and just go for it. Why wouldn’t I take my own advice?”

“I’ve followed my intuition for the last 5 years, and it’s always won. Why am I now doubting the strongest gut feeling I’ve ever had?”

“If I don’t do this now, then when? Someone is going sign that lease and I’ll be here kicking myself”

So, I contacted the owner, set up a meeting, and pitched my visi like I was on Dragon’s Den.

2 weeks later, the space was mine.
Today, 18 Main Street is home.

Thank you all for allowing me to keep doing this. đŸ–€
