I wanted to share a little bit about me and how Sunstone came to be.

For the past 10 years, I owned and ran Gypsy Drifter in Ucluelet. The shop was such a huge part of my life and I learned so much from those years. It was a big chapter for me and closing was very bittersweet.

Life has changed a lot since I first opened those doors. I’m now a mama to three little ones under five, including a very busy 7-month-old and I’ve been figuring out what this next chapter looks like for me.

I’ve always been passionate about herbs, plants, and natural wellness. During pregnancy and into postpartum, I completed a Herbalist program and I’m so excited to share some of what I’ve learned with you through Sunstone.

There’s been so much happening behind the scenes and I’m very excited to launch the website soon and share the products I’ve been working on.

Thank you so much for being here, following along and supporting this new chapter.

A little Sunstone update 🌿✨

I’ve been busy being a mama lately, but I’ve also been having so much fun behind the scenes getting Sunstone ready for what’s next!

I’ll be at the Tofino Market this Saturday with some goods, and I’m getting SO close to launching the website 💛

A Blue Moon Goodbye ✨

How fitting that as I say goodbye to this chapter of Gypsy Drifter, we’re being blessed with a Blue Full Moon, a moon associated with turning points, transformation, and seeing life from a new perspective.

For ten years, this shop has been so much more than a business. It has been a place of connection, stories, laughter, friendship, and community. It has held a piece of my heart and been a part of so many journeys.

The words in this Blue Moon message resonate deeply with me: sometimes a belief, a direction, a dream, or a chapter of our lives no longer fits the person we are becoming. Growth asks us to appreciate what we’ve built while having the courage to embrace what comes next.

As I close this chapter, I do so with so much gratitude and excitement. Gypsy Drifter has given me more than I could have ever imagined, and I am so proud of what it became.

Thank you to every person who walked through these doors, shared a conversation, supported a dream, and helped make the shop what it was. A special thank you as well to all the amazing staff I’ve had over the years.

Looking through these photos, it’s incredible to see how much my babies have grown alongside the shop. When Gypsy Drifter turned 5, Ozzy was just six months old. Now he’s five🥹

Tonight, under the Blue Moon, I’m celebrating not an ending, but a turning point. I’m excited for the next chapter and for the opportunity to focus fully on building Sunstone Apothecary, so stay tuned 💖

Our final day will be May 30🤍

Depending on stock levels, we may close a little sooner if the shop sells out early.

Starting tomorrow, the entire store will be 25% off as we begin clearing out this special little space that has meant so much to me over the years.

Store hours for the remainder of the month will be Thursday to Monday, 10–4.

After 10 years, Gypsy Drifter is closing its doors 🤍

What began with vintage picking while living in Vancouver and traveling to markets and festivals slowly grew into something so meaningful to me. This space has held so many seasons of my life, including becoming a mother to three children.

As much as this business means to me, the realities of running a retail space alongside a growing family have shifted, and it feels like the right time to step into a new chapter. It is bittersweet, but I feel excited for what is ahead.

I feel so much gratitude for the community that formed here. My vendors, my customers, and all the connections and conversations that filled this space over the years. The shop held such a calm, special energy, and I am so thankful to everyone who walked through the doors and experienced it.

This is not the end, just an evolution. I will be launching my apothecary line soon, so stay here and follow along for what is to come.
