Holiday Mondays don’t mean a day off from the hustle, the only difference is I’ve got my wife and kids riding shotgun for the hunt! We hit the road here in BC and filled the trunk with some absolute vintage gold.
Some of my personal favorite scores from today’s haul include a killer 1980s "Awesome" skeleton skateboard deck, a classic retro Pepsi light-up wall clock, a beautifully spooky stack of 60s and 70s Alfred Hitchcock books, and an amazing vintage pink McKids rubber raincoat that is pure nostalgia.

I saved the best of the vintage McDonald's collection for last! "Make it Mac Tonight" is my favorite ad campaign by and I'm happy to bring you 2 deadstock "Mac Tonight" trucker hats and one visor. One of the trucker hats even has a sewn on plush "Mac." McDonald's ran the ad campaign of "Mac Tonight" in the late 80s. "Mac" was known for his crescent moon head, sunglasses and piano-playing, doing his own rendition of "Mack the Knife." If you are a fan of "Mac Tonight" these hats would be a perfect addition to your collection. DM to purchase rare vintage 80s "Make it Mac Tonight" hats.

Modern 2007 Herman Miller cherry Red 'Leaf' table lamp. The 'Leaf' was a collaboration between Herman Miller and Yves Béhar at 'fuseproject' a San Francisco based design studio. Described as sculptural and organic the award winning 'Leaf' would be the first light ever released by Herman Miller, and quickly adopted into permanent collections at MoMA in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.

To adjust the intensity or change the 'Leaf's' color from warm to cool, just slide a finger along a groove in the lamps base. Through innovative design the 'Leaf' doesn't get hot to the touch and stays cool even after hours of use. The 'Leaf' can be used as a task light, folded to create ambient light, or the arms can be straightened for dramatic wall lighting. One of the coolest modern products by Herman Miller, with design and functionality being at the forefront! DM to purchase a gorgeous sculptural drafting light.

If you've been following for a while you'll know I have an obsession with neon signs, neon sculptures, and basically anything with neon lights incorporated. It probably had something to do with growing up in the 80s and 90s, where neon was used for everything, even mood lighting in a restaurant. That's why when I saw the ice cream cone neon I couldn't say no! The ice cream neon stands at 17 inches tall including the white square base. Probably the perfect neon for an ice cream shop or for anyone that has a deep love of waffle cones and ice cream. . . Almost everyone! DM to purchase a free standing neon ice cream cone, which is a great way to let people know that to you, dessert is a main course!

One of the rarest pieces of infamous sporting memorabilia I own! "The Sound and the Fury - Holyfield - Tyson II" 1997 official MGM Grand Casino baseball hat sold exclusively to promote the fight. June 28, 1997 Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield would box for the WBA Heavyweight championship dubbed "The Sound & The Fury." But quickly the fight devolved and Tyson ended up biting a huge chunk of Holyfield's ear. The fight would see Tyson disqualified and banned from boxing, with the event forever being known as the "Bite Fight." Now in 2022 Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have partnered to release a w**d edible called letting bygones be bygones and turning an infamous bite into a business venture. Now all we need is an edible called "Slap a Rock" and Will Smith and Chris Rock can spin a controversy into a w**d edible. DM to purchase a vintage MGM Grand Casino, Tyson - Holyfield II promotional hat, and own a piece of infamous boxing history.

Two Christmas gift grails: a Nintendo 64 with 3 controllers and a stack of five classic games. Followed by a Super Nintendo in the original box with an unreal stack of thirteen games. DM to purchase and create or relive Christmas memories that last a lifetime. (Everything is tested and working!)

I was able to find one more vintage transparent telephone before the end of the year!! If you've been following for a while you'll know one of my favorite things to find are transparent electronics. The vintage Lonestar transparent telephone is in perfect working condition, and would look good mounted to a wall or on a side table. DM to purchase a vintage Lonestar transparent telephone, perfect for buzzing people into your apartment.

The vintage McDonald's collection is almost over, and what better way to wrap it up than share my favorite t-shirt. Deadstock mid 1980s single stitched "Servin' Up Smiles McDonald's Style!" t-shirt with the best color choices. When researching this shirt I could only find pin back buttons issued to McDonald's employees, but no shirts. The campaign did not run for very long and I have a feeling it might be from the ambiguous animation of the lightning bolt employee centered. DM to purchase a deadstock 1980s McDonald's staff t-shirt and start "Servin' Up Smiles McDonald's Style!"

1994 "McDonald's in Walmart" working clock, another piece of vintage McDonald's history. The greatest part of this clock is the fact that all numbers have been replaced with food, and to be honest I agree with the orientation of the food with numbers they replace. Although cheeseburgers for each number replaced would work as well so what do I know! McDonald's opened restaurants in Walmart as early as 1994, with the relationship ending recently in 2020. The near 30 year relationship allowed the ease of shopping for unhealthy food, while eating unhealthy food. DM to purchase a rare McDonald's clock, displayed only in their Walmart locations.
