People always ask if trade shows are worth it.

The short answer? Absolutely.

Sure, you can sell products online. But nothing replaces real conversations, real feedback, and real connections.

Some of our best opportunities have come from shaking hands, hearing people's stories, and meeting customers face-to-face. You learn things at events that no analytics dashboard can ever tell you.

Building a business isn't just about the product; it's about the community you build around it.

That's why we keep showing up.

Stress comes with the territory when you’re building something from the ground up; especially as a young founder trying to do everything at once.

But burnout isn’t a badge of honour.
It’s a signal.

Step back when you need to.
Breathe when it gets loud.
Reset so you can move with intention again.

Because the goal isn’t just to build a business that works... it’s to build a life you can actually sustain while doing it.

Keep going, but don’t run yourself into the ground doing it.

Honestly, if you told me a couple of years ago that I’d be co-authoring a book, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

Getting to participate in my very first book project has been a crazy experience. For my chapter, I really wanted to pull back the curtain and talk about what it actually takes to build a company from the ground up. If there is one massive thing I’ve learned since starting Natsukashii Ink, it’s resilience.

Starting a brand sounds loud and exciting, but the reality is a lot of quiet grind, pivoting when things go sideways, and choosing to keep creating even when it gets tough.

I’m going to be jumping on stage at The Authors & Book Lovers Visibility Forum on June 25th at 11:20 AM PT to talk more about this journey. It can be completely free to register; there are some huge giveaways, and I’d love to see some of the community there.
