Out & About with True Mountain Laurel

Haley Blais and Sam Lynch are True Mountain Laurel, a Vancouver duo that started making music together between solo tours, over coffee, and through a steady stream of voice memos. What began as casual writing sessions turned into Angel So Bad, their debut album, blending folk-country songwriting with the kind of warmth and weirdness that comes from two friends making music without much of a plan.

We caught up with Haley and Sam for a quick-fire conversation about starting a band together, making Angel So Bad, and whatever else came up along the way.

MOMA Community Series: NASARIMBA

The work of Calgary-based duo NASARIMBA is hard to separate from Calgary itself. Since beginning their collaborative practice, Mikhail Miller and Rachel Ziriada have brought their distinctive visual language to walls, buildings, galleries, and public spaces across Calgary and the world. Working across murals, painting, printmaking, installation, and sculpture, the duo builds compositions from bold colour, geometric forms, pattern, and shifting perspectives. Their work draws from the architecture and textures of the places around them, transforming familiar spaces into something more playful, unexpected, and considered. Whether encountered on a city street or in a gallery, their work invites you to look a little closer at the environments we move through every day.

For our latest Community Series, NASARIMBA joins MOMA and gravitypope, three independent practices connected by a shared appreciation for thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and the role of creativity in shaping the places we call home.

MOMA Community Series: NASARIMBA

The work of Calgary-based duo NASARIMBA is hard to separate from Calgary itself.
