Alright this one deserves its own lil’ post here I think!

A while back Ashley Visvanathan hit me up asking about dyeing waterproof fabrics… I had seen some success doing this with X-Pax VX11 from other makers due to the natural canvas face of this fabric. Classic look with modern construction and waterproofing , best of both worlds. That said we weren’t totally sure it would work, the internet has mixed reviews on dyeing this fabric.

Fast forward to now, and it TOTALLY WORKED!! Ashley dyed a whole bunch of this fabric in various ways and then passed it off to me to chop up and figure out how to make it all into a set of bags.

SO stoked with how these turned out, I always love a good collab project and this one went better than we could have ever expected!

So, if you want a very personal touch to your bags, this is definitely one way to go about it. Don’t ask me to dye the fabric for you, I’m too busy, but if you bring me the fabric I’ll make it into the bags of your dreams!!

What do yall think? Should we do some limited edition hand dyed on the Sunshine Coast bags in the future 👀??

LONG overdue batch of framebag photos sheesh!

Make sure to scroll through because they’re all so good, sorry for the overload of photos, it’s been a hot minute and this is only a small fraction of the bags that have left the shop this summer 🔥

Picking all the colours and details for your custom frame bag can be a bit overwhelming, same goes for your overall bike setup. I hope these photos act as a bit of an inspiration gallery for y’all . At the very least it’s fun to see all the 🔥🔥 bikes that roll through the shop!

JUNE 6!

Come one come all, and I mean that! The best bike event of the year is BACK AGAIN!

Come on up to with your vintage MTB to show it off to the world , and maybe win some AMAZING prizes too! If you don’t have a bike you want to show off then just come and gaze in awe of all the beautiful bikes and awesome vendors we have setting up !!

This year we have broader categories for the show n shine - so hopefully this will encourage more folks to come on up with their coveted rides and half finished projects !

Best True Vintage - of era classics, this is the real classic showboat category. If collectors plates were a thing for bikes this would be where they would be hanging.

Resto-Mod : old bike, new parts, classics with that modern flair - maybe could also be called the category

Best Daily Rider: this is for the bikes that are being ridden, and ridden hard. Are you still riding your 90’s GT every day and shredding the shore fully rigid? This is for YOU! Not for the prettiest or shiniest bikes, we want to see vintage mtb’s that are still being ridden every day. The more dirt and bent derailleur hangers the better.

Best DIY : Every vintage MTB build involves a bit of macgyvering , we want to see the coolest and most creative home made DIY anything! Maybe you built custom racks for your bike, maybe you cut two bikes in half to make one ( maybe this could be called the category) . Maybe you made your own bags or even welded some disc tabs on with little to no welding experience …. Home made is the best made , DIY and hopefully don’t die !

Also I’d like to mention that VINTAGE will count for any bike made pre 2015 - I would absolutely LOVE if people rolled up with their early 00’s Freeride rigs. I’ll give a special prize to the best bike that looks like Tyler “Super T” Klassen bucked it off a water tower to flat at some point….

Big ups to for the sick posters, and bonus points to anyone who knows what iconic MTB video this song is from!
