Fashion designer and stylist, Mani Jassal was born in India, and raised in Toronto. Harboring an ardor to find vocation in the Fashion Industry from a young age, graduating with a degree in Fashion Design from Ryerson University has helped make Mani’s dream an enjoyable reality. She has designed a variety of garments, ranging from non-traditional South Asian Bridal wear to studded leather jackets,

and is determined to continue experimenting with different aspects of design. Mani has also contributed to an array of photo shoots as a fashion stylist, including one that can be found published in Zink Magazine online. By combining her fashion design skills to produce custom outfits for shoots, Mani’s styling is distinctive and unique. Her favorite designers include the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and the late Lee Alexander McQueen. She hopes to continue traveling the world, gaining insight and inspiration for her ever-growing portfolio.

The Sharni Set is named after my Massi who designs clothing herself in Punjab. She used to design me cute little suits and the piece that stood out the most was this piece she did with large mirrors going down the middle. Soooooo my sister is getting married and of course that means I am designing the entire “TABBARS” (families) looks. ❤️🥲Yes all 5, and an e shoot look for the bride, my moms looks, Umber’s looks and of course coordinating and styling Veer and Harks, and probably helping my dad with his. But now where does that leave me? What the F am I wearing?!!!!

Here’s one option, Jaipur Corset and Lengha with Organza Dupatta for Simmy’s Sangeet. I know it’s not your typical bright Sangeet look but that’s what I love, it’s more understated, it’s comfy, and it sn**ches my waist and hides my mom pudge.

I’ve been in a rut, and the last two years have been a lot of pivoting. I went online-only, then called a “last collection,” and now I’m choosing a cleaner path. By September or October, the brand will run as ready-to-purchase only, so I can pause, breathe, and focus on what’s next. The studio refresh is step one—calmer racks, clearer vision, and a softer season for me.

We’ll still be welcoming appointments for clients who wish to shop in person — both longtime supporters and new clients who truly resonate with the brand. Over the years, we’ve had many walk-ins searching for very traditional Indian bridal wear, and while beautiful, that has never really been the heart of MANI JASSAL.

What we create is a little different — fashion-forward, modern, and designed for women who want to express themselves beyond tradition. Because of that, we want appointments to feel intentional and curated. We want clients to come in already understanding who we are, what we design, and the experience we’re trying to create. It makes the process more inspiring, more aligned, and ultimately more special for everyone involved.
