The Cotton Club story
The Cotton Club started out as a fun project making cotton masks for my family to wear during the Covid 19 pandemic. I am a hobby sewist and quilter, and time spent at my sewing machine is my happy time where time (and coffee) evaporates!
My family has been my design inspiration. I have tried out many different mask patterns, and had fun improving and amending designs to make best dang possible face mask that I could. My kids masks, according to our 6 year old and his friends, are “two thumbs up”. My husband Peter (aka Mr Cotton Club) was the driving force behind creating the men’s XL size as he has to wear a mask all day while at work, and the store bought ones didn’t cover his Big and Devastatingly Handsome sized face. My ladies masks are my personal favourite accessory to replace lipgloss, and my Mom likes that her eye glasses don’t get fogged up.
After sharing my handmade masks with friends and neighbours, children and adults alike, I was thrilled by the positive response about the comfortable fit for every family member. My belief in the design I’ve created, along with my family’s encouragement, brought me to today! The Covid-19 pandemic has affected every person differently, and this is my story. Keeping sane in my sewing room while our youngest sleeps, matching beautiful quality cotton fabrics together to make masks that are comfortable and reversible.
I’m sure we can all agree on this: if you have to wear a face mask, it may as well be cute!
