How cute are these maxaloones?! I’ve been really enjoying sewing baby & toddler clothes again ☺️ Maxaloones are amazing grow-with-me pants, with the cutest bum circle that give some extra room for cloth diapers (but are still suitable for disposables too!)

Our Story

Dolly Funkle is a one-woman, home based clothing brand from Vernon, BC! I am a mama to two munchkins, a wife to a hard-working daddy who works out of town a lot, cat lover, plant nurturer, and coffee drinker. This little business was started when my youngest was a baby, and I saw a pair of maxaloones. I instantly fell in love and needed a pair for my daughter. I couldn’t find anyone in the Okanagan who made them, so I decided to try and make them myself! I had a bit of sewing experience from school, so away I went. Not long after, people started asking if I would make some for their kids, and.... the business was born. Today, I still make a lot of kids clothing, but have also branched into custom women’s items, and am proud to say that a majority of my own wardrobe is handmade.

What is a “Dolly Funkle” anyway?? This was the nickname my Granny gave me when I was a little girl! She has done a lot for me growing up... sewed me a poodle skirt for 50’s day in elementary, introduced me to Nancy Drew, always hosted a big Christmas baking weekend for all the grandkids, taught me how to drive, rented me my first home, sold me my first vehicle... the list could go on. When I was starting my business, the name kept popping into my head.. Unique, fun.. it just seemed fitting!
