Happy pink heart day!! I'm so excited to share these new towels. Come to visit me and other fabulous makers at the Beehive Spring Fiber Market!

Stressful or satisfying? I found a flaw a few inches into this towel, and it was faster to snip it out than unweave.

January was a long busy month! As it seems to be every year. I filmed and photographed bits of the process for these cherry blossom towels. But with a new phone transition I lost some of them!? Anyhow, it's beautiful and warm here in BC and I can't help but feel excited for spring! I'll be sharing these at the Beehive spring market!

Now this idea I've been playing with won't make it to the market but it's pretty cool to see take shape. I'm weaving a rug out of a beautiful raw lambs wool. It's so soft and the springy curls are so sweet. This fleece from a Cotswold sheep named "moon on the water" from Inish Eile farm, on Pender Island.

The technique is my adaptation of a Viking wool cape.

Whew! 3 scarves to add to the collection for necks. They will be available at the winter market at Oakland's community center this Saturday! Come touch them!

The evolution of my handspun scarves. I love the direction they are taking and can't wait to see each one unfold on the loom. I'll have 3 shawl style one and three narrower scarf style ones at the market on the 22nd.

Towels are off the loom and through the wash, next is to press, cut, hem, press! Done! Working on a few more scarves next and maybe a few extra special rugs!

Last summer the Greater Victoria Weaver's Guild issued a challenge. To weave a towel based on your favorite coffee mug. This beautiful mug by ceramics by Jenny is my absolute favorite. I think I almost got the colours right! What do you think?
