Wow, just wow — for a few decades now, recordings by Scotland’s IRON CLAW have been celebrated with posthumous archival releases containing their original compositions — however always with mention and selling point as them being the earliest group to cover Black Sabbath material abundantly.

Well, the good people at Yunque in Spain have now published a conceptually brilliant idea into a physical artefact — the first and oldest Tribute to Black Sabbath as performed by Iron Claw. Furthermore, most of Iron Claw’s recordings chronologically predate Black Sabbath’s published albums featuring the songs — making the lyrics a bit different while the full song structure is fully on display.

This is a remarkably significant album for all fans and of with excellent mastering and a cool booklet. Recommended. Bravo Yunque!

For those unfamiliar, Dave Vidal was an absolute guitar wizard. Top of the pyramid for ‘70s era Victoria rock music. A man unhindered in admitting his exploratory drug use in the period nor his inner peace thru his faith. Dave played in many groups and is world reknown for his guitar amp tech work. A musician’s musician.

Dave and I spoke many times after bandmate Harry Creech passed away. I was able to interview both of them for their upcoming archival LP of MORNING STAR material. The LP has been sidelined repeatedly. Now I will have to complete it alone or with peers of the group… their legacy must be preserved.
