So we sent them to a third-party lab, next to a few major US brands, and let the numbers do the talking.

Your scalp touches this thing for 12+ hours a day and you've probably never thought about what it's actually made of.

Three things a plastic hair tie is doing right now, whether you notice or not:

1️⃣ Synthetic rubber breaks down with heat and sweat, sitting against your skin the whole time.
2️⃣ Cheap dyes aren't regulated the way skincare is, and your scalp absorbs what's touching it.

The 90s were crimping irons and enough hairspray to set off a smoke alarm. The 2000s were flat irons on repeat and zero heat protectant. We really did that.

Since then, everything else about hair care got smarter: serums, masks, heat protection, the whole routine leveled up.

One thing never got the update: the hair tie. Still plastic and synthetic rubber, same as it was in 1999.

We fixed that part. Organic cotton, natural rubber, no plastic core.

Norfolk Stories, Episode 3: Kelly 🤍

Kelly walked for 12 hours and invited the whole island to join her for any part of it.

Her reason sits close to home. She lost a very close friend to su***de, and she has lived with her own mental health struggles for most of her adult life. Lately that has meant learning to set strong boundaries so she can stay well and be the mum she wants to be for her kids.

The walk was her way of giving people in the community someone to talk to.

As she reminds us so beautiful here, whatever you're going through, there is always someone who cares and wants to hear it.

Long, strong, healthy hair mostly comes down to breaking less of what you already have, not growing more of it.

A few things that actually move the needle:

Sleep on it right. A rough pillowcase or a tight overnight tie creates friction that snaps hair while you sleep.

Skip the tight ponytail. Constant pulling on the same section of hair is one of the most common, and most avoidable, causes of thinning at the hairline.

Get regular trims. Split ends don't heal, they just keep splitting further up the strand.

Give your scalp a few minutes of massage. Better circulation gets nutrients to the follicle faster.

Change what's actually touching your hair all day. Rough synthetic elastic damages the cuticle every time it moves. Organic cotton and natural rubber don't.
