Good morning, Lovers 🖤 I wanted to hop on and post a few little notes and some FAQ’s that we wanted you all to know! Most of you are shopping for a wedding dress for the first time so this is all new and I like to drop little hints and tell you things you may not think of when you’re searching for your dream gown 🖤
One of the best perks buying from us is that you’re taking home the dress you try on, rather than trying on a different size in a shop and ordering, then waiting nine months to get your actual dress in your size. You can see exactly what you’re getting at the time of purchasing.
When ordering from a typical bridal shop and trying on a dress that doesn’t fit perfectly that day, there are some risks when your actual dress arrives 6-9 months later. Proportions might be different, cup sizes may not fit the same as the sample, the silhouette can look completely opposite, and the dress doesn’t sit the same way it did when it was tied on tighter (trying on a too small sample) or clipped up with 5 clips (trying on a too large sample). Please think about that and ask questions about proportions- this is VERY IMPORTANT
Here at B*H we have one of Vancouver Island’s most highly recommended bridal alterations seamstresses Lily Kennedy Custom Gowns, who can talk to you honestly about alterations that you may need. You will be informed what is and isn’t possible for your specific gown, and all costs associated with said alterations. We are the only shop with an on site seamstress available for a chat at every appointment.

-Preloved wedding dresses are often half the price of brand new and for many brides, they don’t see the value in spending double on a dress you wear one time for 6-8 hours. All of our gowns have been worn once, professionally dry cleaned, and show just as beautifully as brand-new dresses for a much more budget-friendly price. We also only stock dresses that are within three years old and newer so many are still for sale in all the bridal shops around town. Photos are examples of wedding photos from our consignment clients- They’re just as beautiful as brand new!
-You’re buying a gown that likely already has some alterations done that you don’t have to pay for!
-You don’t have to wait months to order so quick turnarounds (planning, finding your gown, and alterations are easy)
-Buying a consignment wedding dress puts some cash back into a past bride’ pocket 🖤 We all know how expensive weddings are…
