Another one-of-a-kind piece from Loon + Sturgeon/Spirit Crafted.

This men’s XL ribbon shirt is handmade from beautiful brown cotton fabric, paired with a sky blue turtle print yoke. I carried the turtle print into the neckline, sleeve hems and bottom hem to bring the entire design together.
The shirt is finished with grey, turquoise and white silk ribbons across the front, back and sleeves.
I gift every piece I sew its own name. This one felt like Turtle Spirit.
For me, the turtle carries teachings of wisdom, patience, perseverance, protection and connection to the land.

Introducing the Golden Eagle Ribbon Shirt

This piece marks a special moment in my sewing journey it is the first ribbon shirt I have handcrafted using black silk fabric.

The Golden Eagle Ribbon Shirt features a gold feather-patterned yoke, purple, royal-blue and gold silk ribbon detailing, and embroidered Golden Eagle appliqués on both sleeves.

Every ribbon was individually measured, cut, bonded and sewn by hand with patience and intention.
I gifted this creation the name Golden Eagle because the eagle reminds us to walk with strength, courage and vision carrying our prayers toward the Creator while remaining grounded in who we are.

My heart remains with my childhood community of Collins and with my home community of Whitesand.

Being far away in BC has left me feeling restless, wishing I could do more. Today, I am choosing to place that restlessness into prayer and trust that the right door will open in the right way.

Kitchi Manitou, settle my spirit.
Close what is not meant for me.
Open the way that carries peace, wisdom, protection, and love.

I share this prayer for everyone carrying grief, displacement, fear, or uncertainty. May our communities feel the love surrounding them, even across the distance.

Kitchi Manitou knew my spirit
