The watch features a very unique pattern on the dial. The clear lacquer finish has become chemically unstable after decades of exposure to UV light, humidity, heat, and oxygen. As it shrinks and cracks, it can separate from the black paint beneath it, exposing lighter brown tones and creating random organic patterns. Collectors refer to this effect as a volcanic, lava, leopard or camouflage tropical dial.
