Confessions from a handmade small business owner Part 1.
I’ve been thinking about a lot these last few months both personally and business-wise.
Getting up at 4:30am for swim practice, keeping things together at home while working part time, slowly letting go of my independent kiddos while also being there for them when the need arises, all while trying to find a nugget of time to do sew toys is almost impossible and starting to take its toll. If you mamas think that just because they’re older that they don’t need you as much - you’re wrong, they do!
This chapter of my life feels a lot like it did when the kids were very young, when everything was about them. That time in my life demanded all my focus, all my breath for them.
Fast forward 10-12 years and I’m in a new chapter all about teenage hormones, high school, swim board duties, looking ahead to university, mastering the art of chauffeuring, learning to let go and making plans for my future empty nest.
They’ll only be with me for a few more years and those years will go by in a blink and I don’t want to miss any of it.
